"Decisions make the man"...  congrats on making a tough but honest call, Sean.  I know it had to hurt.

BUT....  old whalers are wicked...

Man...after 9 pages of excitement. I feel like I just got dry-humped by the head cheerleader---it was cool to dream but in the end, it just didn't happen! Well, I guess I'll have to keep on dreamin.

You have no idea...the search continues!

I am not going the Radon route at this point...too heavy and too much work for my mission at the moment.  I am in the research mode.

Norm's Whaler (17 or 19, can't remember) sure is the dope.  He told me you can get aftermarket big ole racks for it.  Lot of deck space for a small boat, but you pay with the bounce.

I saw a killer deal locally on a 1995 21ft Baja Bayrunner w/twin 45s for $4000!!! Such a good deal that it sold before I could send you a msg about it.
Lots of good deals on bloodydecks right now too.

Oh yeah, and after re-reading my previous comment, I realized how queer it sounded haha. The "idea of NorCal mothership trips" was the head cheerleader, not you Sean.  :smt005

I know where there is a Boston Whaler for auction, Government Surplus.  Opening bid is $150.  Auction opens in a few days.  The motor was removed as well as guages and stuff.  But it is a Whaler.  I grew up seeing whalers and know they ahve a great reputation.  If I were to guess the boat looks to be 21+ feet, possibly longer, hard to tell in the pics.  It comes with a triple axle trailer.  It is down in San Diego.

Well it was a long search, but I did find another Radon.  My wife hates this one a lot less.  Still needs work, but I love a good winter project. Looking forward to expanding my range in 2010.

It is old.  It is a well preserved 1988.  The trailer is new.  The motor is toast.  I'll be putting a newer used motor on it this winter.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
