Probably join you all on Saturday-just for the day. Should be out there about 8:30-9:00

Is there potable water at the site or do we need to pack it in?

There is a faucet at the campsite, two bathrooms (da stinky pit style) and lot's of room for tent space - BUT there are plenty of gopher holes so walk carefully at night - make sure your head lamp is on full blast mode.

*If you want to catch catfish at night, bring a bell for your rod and use frozen chovies (da chovies will catch stripers too). I brought a small cooler and put a block of dry ice to keep the chovies from melting away....learned that trick from a member of the MFDT :smt002

*bring rubber boots - it may get muddy around the camp site. Your waders, topped with a rain coat willl be the best way to stay dry IF it decides to rain on Saturday night.

special note: to those of you who choose to brave the conditions this weekend = I salute you  :salut: You will all be knighted as Mooch's STORM TROOPERS  :smt003

...What Troy had mentioned earlier is so true...everytime I plan a fish n' chill...it always seems to rain  :smt011

See you all soon enough!  :smt006

Joel, are you going to have your small cooler with dry ice again this trip? If so, If I bring a box of melting chovies (They were frozen, but btt I get to the lake I'm sure they won't be) can I keep them in the cooler to keep your bait company?

Kastmasters and Rapalas.

If I get drunk enough to feel like bait fishing hotdog chunks work for catfish.

Yeah, what for?  Tossing some plastics, or you gonna be putting chovies on them?

Another reminder to make sure everything is dry & clean before you go.

I figured I'd be good to go since I haven't had the yak in the water for a couple weeks but took a quick look today & noticed some dried mud on it - that could get you turned away at inspection. Also check inside hatches for moisture & gunk. It would suck to be all set for the weekend, then fail inspection.  :smt010

I'm not sure about live bait, but water in a bait bucket could presumably be an issue as well.

Aaron, has a good point.Double check your yaks for moisture inside the hull...big no no. If you have gone through the inspection before bring your last receipt that shows that you have been through the process before. It will speed things along.

Don't forget to bring jig heads 1/16 to 1/32.......

Be careful out there  :smt003
