Fish & Chill Lake Del Valle II - March 20-21-22 (Friday to Sunday)

Steaks are a marinating, gear is packed, kayak is washed down,  all I need is my peanuts, a few beers, and ice.  (Forgot the darn worms and anchovies!) Guess tomorrow on my way out!

They sell both at the bait shop there if you just want to skip the extra trip!  Can always share mine too!

Officially done packing!  Man, I have no idea how I'm going to get this all over to the site    This is going to be fun!  Just have to get the chicken done and I am all set.

  Yeah,I'm taking my inflatable for a camp barge again, I don't want to make 2 trips!  Wife just informed me that she got me water, & beer. Still out in her car. 

Wish I had a hot tub.

You are a bunch of troopers. Next year maybe try in April? Or is rain just part of the del valle fish n chill experience?

I do that and also freeze a water bottle or two (of the 16-24oz. variety) and take it out on the water with me.  This provides me with cold water later in the day.

Don't know but I'm guessing that the small jig heads are for crappie.  GB2, and others I'm sure, have proven that there is a decent crappie population at DV.  Those little buggers can be fun on light tackle.

Which in turn would make great striper bait?!?

I'm hoping so.  I bought some crappie swimbaits to chuck at stripers.  We'll see how effective they are.
