If I recall correctly inspection is $4, launching $2, and parking $5?  Plus or minus a buck or two?

Oh yes, and the daily fishing permit(s)...  $4 a day?

I've already got tiny tube lures I use for crappy/blu gil and trout,  What is the need for 1/16 ,1/32 oz leadheads for?  Those seem real tiny for anything other than panfish and occasional trout.

Could it be the super secret shakey head worm technique?  It is deadly when fish are holding tight down deep...

I hope to see you guys out there!  Off to the pro shop to pick up some 1/16 and 1/32 oz lead heads...

I'm wondering how I'm going to land a striper on such a small jig? :fish4

If FW wasn't so far I'd make a lunch run also, but "Wouldn't be prudent- Not gonna doit" so I'll have to make due with what I have already.  Uh.. wait a minute....Here's a thought Leave work early!  Doh..... I'm brilliant! (Mad scientist laughing under his breath so coworkers don't hear him!)  Guess I might be able to get a package or 2. For what, I don't know yet.

in case anyone needs to keep their cooler cold for the whole weekend and do not have access to dry ice, this is what I always do:

get 1 or 2 1 gallon milk jugs or those square juice jugs
fill with water (you can add salt to lower freezing point)
freeze overnight
put in cooler with your regular ice - you can either cut the block ice out of the jugs or keep them in there.

i've kept a cooler with ice cold for 3 days with minimal melt this way. no problems and cheap!

Yeah!  Ben posted that a few months ago and I haven't bought ice since!!!  I took some juice bottles and filled with water, and some just regular water bottles and keep em in the freezer.  Put the large ones on the bottom and the small ones on top!  Works like a charm!!!

I do that and also freeze a water bottle or two (of the 16-24oz. variety) and take it out on the water with me.  This provides me with cold water later in the day.

Don't know but I'm guessing that the small jig heads are for crappie.  GB2, and others I'm sure, have proven that there is a decent crappie population at DV.  Those little buggers can be fun on light tackle.

There are really nice slab black crappie at DV. I had the best fall season ever in 2008. Unfortunately, since the water level dropped, all of my usual spot are above water and I haven't been able to locate them. Like many lakes, the really big slab crappies are caught trolling deep diving plugs. I have taken many crappie jigging also, but since I don't use an anchor, I get hung up alot. If you want to jig for crappie, bring an anchor. I can show you some submerged trees to target if desired.

Stopped by the storage unit today to pick up the baby carrier and it seems that Burningman has dealt a deadly blow to it. Frozen bearings and shot tires, forgot to clean it last time... Man that dust is harsh on metal.
Did a drift today with Patrick, landed a wild smolt, had a great time.
Wish I had a hot tub.
