I hope to see someone catch a big Halibut at Gimme Shelter!  I still have to figure out how to land one of those on a kayak!  That is a lot of flapping, fighting fish.....
Good luck!  Matt

Aha, i see. My countdown is until the opening of RF season up there (The 15th).

I guess I should actually tack on an extra 6 hours until sunrise on the 15th.

At this point I'm predicting quite a bit of big smiles, cold beer and enthusiastic hand-shaking on Thursday evening the 14th.  Sunrise on the 15th is going to be magic.   :smt001

My first ocean experience at GS III is something that I think about everyday!
I have stayed busy on the days I don't get/have to substitute teach by, rigging the yak, acquiring gear, and learning many things from the wisdom of everyone on this great site. THANKS ALL!

I think I have all the bases covered now with equipment and safety gear;

SAFETY GEAR
3 mil farmer john
5 mil boots w/ merino wool socks
gloves
compression shirt and shorts
polar fleece mid layer and beanie
gore tex outer shell
PFD
VHF
compass
air horn
whistle
knife
Binoculars

YAK GEAR
PVC Ghetto Bar for: FF, compass, camera mount, VHF, navig. lite, beverage holders.
Milk crate tackle box and cart, with 6 rod/net/gaff holders.
Piss bottle :smt002

FISHING GEAR
2 rods
2 reels
net
gaff
stringer
some shrimp fly and cod rigs

Now help me with terminal tackle, lures, jigs, bait, etc. suggestions.
My new buddy MattS said he would hook me up with a few of his creations,
Thanks Matt!

HAVE I FORGOT SOMETHING?
