Just scooped up the last mini-suite. Will be arriving Thursday night, so Friday can be an all day fishing/scouting day.

FYI - There's only one room left at the Tides Inn and it's a standard room.

Sweeeeet, Dustin, Thank you!  We're down to the last room, Guys - the evening gathering at The Tides patio over the beach is going to be serious.  We just need someone to scoop up that last room...  Don't miss out!   :smt007

Any lure tips Abking?  I poured though your past pictures and videos to gleen all your secrets.  I kept seeing this ugly beat up 6oz lead head with a curly tail on it!  Obviously it is a decoy lure to hide your true fish mastery lure secrets  :smt001  Do you loose alot of lures in the area?  I am debating on how much to load into the tackle box.

I also have some jigs heads and flutter jigs with your name on them for putting this together.  I will be taking a lot of trips to the coast this year, we will have to hook up for some fishing and diving.

I tried calling the campground today but couldn't get though.  It might be the weather?  I will try again tomorrow.

I chopped my huge cart down to fit into the rear tankwell.  I can now just flip it upside down and strap it in.  I pulled it around the yard and it seemed to work really well.  That way I can walk my kayak down and don't have to worry about walking the cart back up...hopefully.  It will also work nice up here at the lake.

Are we going to try and have a potluck?  Some of the dishes I read about off the Elk threads look good!

Matt

Matt!  How's this for the Ultimate in Synchronicity:  at 11:53 I posted on your tackle-making thread about wanting to use your stuff at the Cove!   :smt005 I love it!  So, anyway, to answer your question, I go big, ugly, and often.  Trade secrets right there.   :smt004  I'm trying to catch a big ling or something else that's big and wants to bite.  I look forward to catching fish with your jigs, or seeing someone else do it.  And Domenic's got some kickass hardware going that I'm also looking at to be a big producer.  I like the idea of using new stuff, and I know it'll work, but I also know the old tried and true 6 or 8 oz. leadhead with an 8" split tail or swimbait on a shrimpfly rig is proven.  It's a bit less than $5 per rig, and part of the mastery of the sport is learning how to lose less gear.  This sport takes that to an extreme at times.   I've had stretches where I haven't lost a rig in several trips, and I've had trips where I lost 5 or 6 rigs.  It's frustrating at the time but even considering the $30 loss in tackle it's worth it to be out there doing it.  :smt001

Potluck:  Definitely!  Probably at The Tides patio.   :smt001

A teaser for rockfish and lingcod fishing - relevant because it was May 10th, 2008 - nice water, light wind in May.  I also made a point of trying to get some motion sickness material in here, and I think it worked.  Watch out when I ask if you get seasick.   :smt005

It's worth a try, Scott, but I've never stayed down there and don't know the folks.  Good luck!   :smt001
