Some may be happy to hear I will not be there but victory is never as sweet until you dethrone the champion.

Sorry to hear that you won't make it Scott.  I hope the Missus is doing OK.

And since the winner won't have dethroned you, does that mean that they will have to put an asterisk next to their title? :smt044

I also need to break open the latest batch of home brew (a newcastle clone) which may be better then any food I can muster.

Not a beer drinker here but I'm sure some wouldn't mind some fresh stuff.  Although wassail might be more apropos. :cold :coffee2:

We're on for this weekend. I reserve the right to call it off due to adverse weather for saftey concerns. Dress warm, they are predicting 30% chance of snow. I'll bring hotdogs and fixings for the potluck.
I'll have spent the better part of 3 hours in a car so I'm fishing - tournament or not. :toothy2:

I can bring some sort of dessert.

Michael

I'm with you dilbeck,
After a 3 hour drive some fish will have to pay  :kungfu

Besides it's not often I get a Saturday off so I'm not going to let a little water stop me, Heck they say kayaking is a water sport, don't they?

Seems like a lot of Erics going...  Should make for some fun VHF banter.

I can't wait.  I love the challenge of remaining snuggly warm n dry outdoors for three days of rain!

Don't forget to bring a towel...

Sorry to hear it, Joel.

That means I have a spot for someone to park and/or pitch a tent if they'd like.

But it might be better to upgrade to a cabin or covered spot for only a few $$ more...

Found this little piece of info on the sniffer board.

Quote
Was out there this evening...fish seem to be hanging tight, and maybe if the guys in the boats tried hugging tight, or running planer boards, it might be a different story.

Angels Creek ramp is closed, and the entire area including the fish cleaning station is gated off.  Seems pretty stupid to have people buy passes, and they gate them out of area's.  The road out Glory Hole Point is gated too, almost seems like they are discouraging bank fishing.  Not very fishing friendly, in my opinion.  Took a Mt. Bike ride out to check out Angels Creek, you can hear the creek running, it's been a while since that has happened.  Next time, I take my pole on the bike, just have to finagle a way to hang on to every thing.  I guess I need to go to "Slim's School of MT. Bike Fisihing"

Cool thing about the anual pass.  60 bucks, or 30 for you seniors.  They issue you a plastic card.  Good for 2 people, and 1 boat.  You can use it with your friend, and his boat.  hint, hint.

I'm thinking this might affect plans for Sunday. :smt009

On a side note, I just checked my camera and it is "freeze proof" down to 14 degrees so at least that may be functioning.  My fingers may not operate but at least I know the camera will.

Ah come on Adam, you should do this.  It's gonna be fun.  Just think, when we have it next year, you won't hate the lake cuz it will be your second time. :smt003   I'm not an expert on the lake but would be willing to share what little I know.

Let the old men sit at home and warm their bones by the fire...  show some respect. :smt044

But seriously, I understand the lack of enthusiasm for a 4hr drive followed by rain with a chance of snow...

Have fun guys. I'll have to miss this year's event too.  :smt010

I promised myself that after missing out on the inaugural event last year one of my son's and I would make it this year no matter what. But my oldest son is recovering from major surgery and so I'll be on dry land for a little longer. But just wait until next year.....  :fish

I'm in!  Might try to fish Saturday afternoon if I get a few things done at my folks house down the road in Copperopolis, otherwise see everybody on Sunday morning. Looking like it's gonna be real cold. Good luck!

Take care - John
