That's a good legitimate question.  If someone won a kayak they already owned or didn't want, they could simply sell it.  A Hobie Adventure retails for $1800 and could easily be sold new on Craigslist for about $1500.

$1,500 cash would still be the biggest prize ever awarded for any of our derbies.

I see an ALL WOMAN of NCKA TOURNEY comin!....stand by!

Now that's what I'm talking about! Since the prizes are rolling in, I've already suggested a AOTY women's division (especially one for old women! :smt002). Now I have to find a great mentor like Melissa has. Hey, Mooch, your Sugar Mama needs you! :smt008

Time and trouble will tame an advanced young woman, but an advanced old woman is uncontrollable by any earthly force.

With all this bling a women's division might give thought to gender transformation for a few.

Amadeo Bachar (NCKA's "AB10") is no ordinary artist.  He does this for a living and his art is frickin' amazing.  Many of his prints looking so life-like, you'd swear they were photos.  He's so good, the DFG has commissioned him to do their new rockfish ID photos -- the same ones you'll be seeing in future DFG fishing regs.  What an honor!!!

I met Amadeo and his dad at the 2007 Fred Hall Show.  They're both great guys and awesome sportsmen.

If you want to see more of Amadeo's work, check out:

Big J, you're wish has come true.  John, the owner of Wind Toys in Santa Rosa has just agreed to be the sponsor Women's AOTY division and a Kid's (under 17) AOTY division.  I'm expecting some nice prizes.

Thanks John!

Very Cool! Thanks to Wind Toys for supporting NCKA.

I will see if I can get HOOK1 and Aquan Sports to donate some prizes as well.
