I have November 23rd to the 30th off and looking to do some off-roading/camping.

Thinking about hitting up the Death Valley Adventure Route or parts of the East Mojave Heritage Trail, but open to other suggestions. As of this past weekend, most of the mountain trails already have snow on them, so looking to head South.

If I didn't already have commitments would absolutely join you on this.  Did a multi-day trip to DV about 10 years ago in January and it was a great time.  That was in a mid-size though, not sure how the full-size would fare on lippincott rd...

Right on.

My daughter's soccer season just ended so I'll have more free weekends for a while. I'm hoping to go play in the snow, locally, before it gets too deep.

100% have to seize the opportunity when it’s there.  :smt001

An idea I’ve had in my head is a long weekend trip into the king range with a stop to fish along the way.  Bringing a kayak would probably spell disaster, but Im sure there is decent shore fishing at the Cove

I was going to take this route this past Sunday/Monday.

Cut over to Ft. Bragg from Ukiah via Orr Springs Rd. then take Ft. Bragg Sherwood Rd (dirt road) back to 101 then get off 101 and take Bell Springs Rd (dirt road) to Garberville, then on to camp at Shelter Cove and have fish tacos at Gyppos.
On the way home I was going to take Usal to Hiway 1.

But it rained and I didn't want to camp solo in the rain.

Looks fun, let me know if another window works to give it a run.

A few years ago I motocamped between Shelter and Mattole and there was a ridge road that had some awesome dispersed sites.

I've done the Mojave Trail.  Saw the salt flats and crossed the deep water.  It was straight-forward and a lot of fun.  Not too technical.

The only downside is that it took most of a day to drive to the trailhead...

Cool!
I think rather than taking one of the established routes I’m going to mess around in the Trona Pinnacles and Alabama Hills areas.

Wish I could join ya, but I have to work several of those days.  I also might need an RV to stay in, it's frigging cold AF now and i'm not enjoying it at home.  :smt044

I would be down to go on the 26th, but I need to be back in the Bay by the 28th to road trip down to LA.

Have fun.  Looks like a good route.

Doesn't your teardrop have a heater?

I just got one of these to keep me toasty.

Yeah, that would be brutal. I'll let you know next time I do something closer!

Tear drop has a fantastic heater, but you have to to be inside it laying down to enjoy it. Been dreaming about a bigger trailer or an RV.

I finally got a minute to post some pics from my trip.

I got a late start on Day 1 so I ended up staying the night at a hotel in Ridgecrest, which is the perfect jump off spot for hitting any of the local attractions.

On Day 2 I picked up some last minute supplies and headed up to Alabama Hills.

These pics are from just outside of Ridgecrest.
