If one wanted to “share their luck” with their friends (seen/overheard this while crabbing in particular ), could they hand off their rod with a fish on, or allow a buddy to pull their trap?

Totally. For traps you're supposed to have written consent technically but most ppl just stay bear their buddy so no issues pop up

But...  then there's the fact that this type of behavior exists here too.

I see this as more of a systemic problem.  We are living in a world where opportunity is king, and if you sideline your ethics just a little, which is easy, you can enjoy all kinds of "free stuff" and popularity.

Completely agree with this.  This isn't just a facebook or F&S thing.  We've all seen it here as well.  More and more people seem to forget the very basic things...They just want the kayak, go pro, and make money for views and forget everything else.

What I just don't get is the increasing number of people that go on the defense on behalf of these clowns.  They're all adults and fully capable of reading and understanding regs.  The more people continue to accept and baby these clowns, the worse its going to get.

And damnit, looks like he's Korean.  Just want to make it clear that the Koreans do not claim him.   :smt044 :smt044

Better late than never.  This dude's gonna have nightmares about the one that didn't get away.  I could imagine an overabundant halibut horror dream of snapping teeth and a fully submerged yak weighted on one side with forty flapping flatties getting corralled by massive sea lions and a dfw coast guard armada filming it while he's trying to read the regs on the spot without his reading glasses... :smt006

Yes and yes.

As long as you don't have a limit of finfish and are still legally fishing, and your buddy is actively and legally fishing, then you can hand off the rod and your buddy can put it in his bag and it won't count against yours.  What you can't do is have your kid along who isn't fishing his own rod, hand off the rod, and catch the "double limit".

You can always give permission for someone to pull your crab traps for you.

You can't locate abalone for anyone else in case someone reads this from the past or from the distant future and that becomes relevant again.

This is the way to share your luck.

I know I come off as a supporter for YT's, but really I just see this as a big problem that causes a lot of strong emotions, and it's worth debate.  I do like Anjo's channel, really I liked his shore fishing videos which are pretty entertaining, and I like other YT's too.  There are ones that I don't in particular like at all and have my reasons for it.  Heck, the OP is  a known YT Lover  :smt005  I just feel like when these situations pop up, every bad thing every other youtuber has done gets focused on the current problem, instead of being specific about the issue that is being discussed.  I also don't like when it seems they are all lumped together as 'youtubers' when there are obviously good and bad ones.

But...  then there's the fact that this type of behavior exists here too.

Now this part of the thread is something that I really struggled to put into words, but they said it best.  It seems no one believes that someone could be that stupid, and that they are obviously just greedy about views and profit.  I really wanted to see him admit his mistake, and not just cover it all up.  And well it was obvious from the moment he re-posted that he wasn't at all understanding the mistake he had made.  I think he genuinely thought what he thought was right, otherwise it would be verrrrry dumb to burn down your channel by posting and bragging about it.

His re-response just screamed "I cant be blamed, I'm a victim, I thought I was right." and not really accepting that "I am wrong and I am responsible for my actions."  This seems to be the biggest problem, and is highlighted all the time in the Boomers vs. Millennials war.

A NCKA racial draft ala classic Dave Chapelle seems like a terrible idea.  I'm in.

He may be hapa.  On behalf of the white delegation, we do not claim him either.  He's a free agent now if any other delegation is interested.

Since I can’t think of anything much whiter than LatinX and we would have burned a draft pick on them anyway,

On behalf of the white delegation, you e got yourself a goddamned deal.

On the original topic, the DFW got back to me and it’s been escalated. Numerous complaints were made to CalTip.
