Time to get prepped for the next AR, coming to Santa Cruz Co tomorrow afternoon through Friday.

NWS has the SC mountains receiving between 5"-8" in a 48 hr period, mostly in a concentrated rain band Friday/Friday eve. Winds gusting over 40 mph.

Stay safe everyone.

Fortunately for us, the wind is supposed to be out of the south and we're well protected from everything except a north wind. Regardless, wind looks intense  from Thursday afternoon thru Friday noonish, and it may be time for a road trip or all-nighter in town or something...

In other news... It's getting old dealing with insurance, roofers, tree cutters, etc., etc.!

Yes, it’s been a downpour, but the wind was much less than predicted. Regardless, I couldn’t sleep a wink as every little sound caused me to jump out of bed (there was even some thunder and lightning). Fortunately, the wife and kids were OK with it.

So now I’m in my car in town with an hour++ until Home Depot opens. The rain revealed a couple more small leaks in the roof…

Latest forecast discussion and models show the next AR on Tuesday has potential to be stronger than Friday's.  It's gonna be an ugly one in South County.

The only good(ish) news is that the big winds are during the day. It’s also blowing from the south, which usually doesn’t affect us. Just in case, I’ll be sure to be out of the house all day…

Same for us on the southerly winds.  We sit in a nice lee provided by 2 taller hills.  It also means the winds are pushing the one big doug fir away from the house, so that makes me more warm and fuzzy.  Honestly, I can't imagine what Pajaro is going to look like after another 8" of rain... or what other new issues will pop up since everything is on the brink.  It may not be a wild ride for our places, but it is sure to be one for the county and south of us.

Serious storm today got me to evacuate after seeing a tree fall and take out my neighbors porch. A vacation rental on my street just got clobbered by a tree. Had to help clear the road on west park to make it to town. Once T town cNt go anywhere so I'm at the bar for now drinking.

WOW. Where are you at. I had two trees fall at my house, but I'm lucky both missed my place.

I live up 236 about one mile from the gas station. Went back and checked on my other neighbors and thankfully they are OK. Headed back to the bar, got nothing else to do lol
