On the upside, at least we now have additional photographic evidence of the existence of bigfoot...

My wife got stuck on the other side of the hill when all that wind came through.  After spending the night at her parents', she decided to make the trek over the hill.  She took some pics along the way...

Disclaimer: Driving over or under power lines is dumb.  She certainly would never do that just to get home.  Nope; of course not.  Closed course with trained stunt driver (or something).

Don't tell anybody, but we had to drive over downed lines for 5 days to get out of our house after the snow last month...

Happy to be in a hotel down by the Wharf today, so I can do some work and shower and not hear a generator or gaffs falling from the sky.  Going to have to smoke the rest of my fish in my freeze when I get back though.  Drove over power lines several times, they weren't sparking or anything, i just figured there are enough breaks down the way that it has to be safe  :smt005

...I did hit a substantial poodle in the road that perked me up....

I forget is the substantial poodle the biggest poodle or the mid-sized poodle?  :smt002

Seriously, glad you are safe and had the sense to slow down.

While waiting it out at Joe's someone showed me video of what it was like just another couple miles up 236 from my house.  At least 6 big trees straight across the road that people were having to drive under with wires and branches everywhere.  As I left to head to the Wharf I saw a house split in two by a tree just past Ben Lomond.  Sure hope that's the end of the storms for at least a while.  Heck, I'm now hoping for a few drought years  :smt005

I also hope for everyone's sake that this is the last of the major storm/wind.  Stay safe everyone.

This winter has had it all.  We even had an earthquake up here back in December and inches of snow on the beach in February.  I know two people who lost their lives in weather related traffic accidents this winter also including a 21 year old girl with her whole life ahead of her.

This winter can bite me.  I'm over it.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the models are showing another goddamned atmospheric river headed our way Tuesday... and it's looking like another goddamned low from the Gulf of Alaska is gonna join it to make some wind.

This.  Our reservoirs are as full as need be, our ground is saturated, our streams and rivers are full.  We have the water we need and the rest of this is useless.  Just fucking stop already!

That’s it—I’m going to go check into a hotel until June…

PG&E Update now says Saturday due to "Hundreds of down trees".  Guess I'm staying another night!

The 2 most recent outages for us, PG&E actually restored power a full day ahead of their prediction, whereas in the past 1 or 2 days late was typical. Still, “hundreds of down trees” does not sound promising…

It was pretty hard sleeping last night.  Too warm, not cold enough, no sounds of generators or rushing water or trees falling.  Couldn't sleep a wink....
