Wish I was going to be able to make it.  I bought my first kayak from MBK 3 years ago and used to shop there often.  They are NOT 100% pro-fishing.  I think they have kind of an identity crisis . .some folks (1 or 2) there are very much into fishing and some, it seems, not so much.  In the end I decided not to shop there . . but just because they are crazy over-priced!!

I would be at this tournament if I were still in town . .good luck to all participants!

Fishing is cool

MBK has a large dirt/gravel parking lot. It costs $8 to park for the day, and is city-owned, so they can't really offer a discount or anything. There is also a paved parking lot about 100 yards north of MBK that costs $8 per day but it only has about 15 spots.
You can park on Del Monte Blvd for free if you get there early enough. There are also parking spaces (metered) on the Wharf. And a large pay-per-hour parking lot next to the Wharf.
My plan is to either pay the 8 bucks to aprk at MBK. Or park in the temp spots there and unload then move my car to a free spot along Del Monte. I don't know though...it might be worth the 8 bucks this time.

Sand wheels would be helpful. Although, I just drag my kayak across the sandy beach to the water.

Have fun and good luck to everybody.

Last minute trip to Vegas for me that week-end.

"Last minute trip to Vegas" huh?... I saw the commercials and understand it's against city ordinance to tell us what goes on there but just be safe my man.  :smt005

I'm looking for a little info on camping in the area. Anyone got any suggestions or info on the subject? I'm going to be there Saturday/Sunday. All I need is a simple spot. I've never fished the area, so this is a great opportunity to check out the area, fish it, and meet some fishing folks. Looking forward to it. See ya all there.
