Save the DATE August 26th MBK/OK Tourney!!!

I'm a little premature, because they don't have the signup forms ready yet, but Monterey Bay Kayaks and Ocean Kayaks are co-sponsoring a Saltwater Derby on August 26 this year. 

Contest will be at DelMonte Beach, right at MBK, sign in around 6, start around 7, end around noon.... BBQ, etc. This area is a really good place to fish in August with rockfish, lingcod and halibut all available within a relatively short padle.

I will post more details as they come available.

I'm calling it the "First Annual MBK Kayak Fishng Derby"  Remember the largest WSB on record for California was caught in that area a few years ago.....75 lbs.  threshers are a possibility, Solsrf and mooch have proved the halibutability of the area, I catch lings there all the time, and both Aaron and I have gotten calicos there within the past month.  Fishy spot, and very easy launch and landing area.
