MBK Derby 2022 Registration Now Open!

Just got the email that the Derby is being rescheduled for next weekend, weather made a turn for the worse....

Looks like the derby is postponed til next Sat. Got a call from Adam.

Thanks for the heads up!   They are more than accommodating...up to 5 PM today! 

Sorry everyone. After Bushy and i talked today we decided it just wasn't a good idea. Unsafe paddling conditions and cold! I called and emailed everyone. So far just a few drops and a few adds. It will be a great event next week!

Tough call, but I think that it's the right move for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable tourney.  See you guys next week!

We could really use some support from the NCKA family. Due to the change we did have quite a few drops. Good news is that everyone has a higher chance of winning and leaving with a raffle prize but would love to see more come out. I have been watching this weather front all week and every time I check, it changes. It has been doing this flip flop action all week from downgrading to upgrading. One of the harder storms I have had to interpret and making this call was very difficult.

Yeah it was at leat 10kt at 6am with an actual swell breaking on the MBK beach.  they cancelled all rentals and tours around 11.  Not as bad as forecast called for for Adam made the correct decision.

Sorry to any and all that could only make it this one weekend, and welcome to all that could't make this weekend but can sign up for next week.  Always safety 1st   Good job and thanks for the blood sweat and tears and the worry Adam!  As Ernie/Mendo used to say, Sea Ya next week!!

Conditions are looking good so far for this Friday and Saturday. I'm thinking of fishing Friday late morning/afternoon and then the tourney. Anyone else camping at Laguna Seca?

Could be epic conditions this weekend from the reports I'm looking at.     Going to be a great weekend!  Cant make it up early or I'd join ya Joe.  But look forward to chilling with everyone after the tourney!
