BTW, can someone haul a boat home for me on sunday?  I'm picking up a new outback mirage and my roof rack can't handle more than one boat.

I live in Campbell, so its on the way home for anyone coming by way of the Hwy 17.

thx in advance,

Bushy

BTW, for all that are going...

When Frank and I went to Santa Cruz Harbor, we were a bit confused about the parking, Meters... Huh?

Well, the way it works, just park, and the Harbor master comes by and Gives you a " Ticket "  warning...

to pay up @ the Harbor Master's office right behind the launch ramp before you leave...$6.00

No Problem ....See ya There... :smt006.... Danglin

I think the 6$ is for launching at the trailer boat ramp......parking might be sepaarate.  worth a call and better than getting a ticket.  You may have sated on parking enforcement because it was not  a weekend......

Safe than sorry, might call kayak connection or harbor office to clarify.

Where is the weigh-in(or the launch, for that matter)?   The form says "the launch ramp", but there are 3 or them at the harbor: the big PB one on the east side and two hand launch ones on the other side.

I will be doing a last minute sign up, where would I sign up at?
The parking is five or six dollars just to park. Twelve dollars for parking and launching a boat.

WoooHooo!  Me and my friend John Hog just registered and paid for the tourney.  Just give KC a call and they will take a credit card on the phone, you can fax in the registration and release of liability forms directly.

At the time I called we were numbers 20 and 21 for the count of registration.  May have another friend join, that would be 23.

For the lauch, when I called I asked which one they are using, and they said the main boat launch next to the Bayside shop.  I prefer the hand launch on the other side of the marina, but I guess it doesn't matter.  There is a scale at the shop, so im guessing that will also be the weigh-in.

Now I just have to try and get my FF to work, maybe a bait tube, and I should be set!

Cya out there!

Frank and I were "Yaking" with the Harbor Master while he was writting up the ticket, and could clearly see that we did not have a boat and put the ticket on the windshield.....

Are we to meet @ the Big launch @ the East side? :dontknow: ...... Danglin

the 6$ fee is for launching kayaks.  PBs cost more.  Main PB launch ramp is the one mark is referring to.  NOT next to Bayside, but rather down a ways nearer to the Crow's Nest.  If anyone has a good digital scale, bring it, I think Mark is planning on using a bathroom scale.  I'll try to bring my rapala scale we used at MBK as a backup.  he told me weigh in will be at "the launch ramp"

BTW, looked at the water today it ws greasy calm at 12:30pm.  If it is like that on sunday it will be really great!

Thanks for the info.  I will "start" ( and weigh-in the winning fish)  from the big car-towing launch ramp near the Crow's Nest.  I might "launch" on the other side.

BTW, the West Marine Fun Regatta (for ages 8-18) is from 11-3 Sunday, they meet at the clubhouse above the hand-launch ramp near the bridge. One year, that meant a lot of small sailboats in and out of the harbor during the tourney.
Also, there is a triathalon going on early Sunday with swimmers going around the SC wharf and I think biking/running on the west side of SC, and some entertainment at the Boardwalk outdoor stage around noon.
And then there is the Capitola Art & Wine Festival 10-6 - after the tourney you could paddle down there for free admission/ $2-$5 for wine tasting.

Not much to report on my end. Fished all morning in flat lakelike water. Only caught a few bait fish. Didn't see anything of any size come in. Enjoyed fishing with my son and finally meeting Sackyak, Frankfishing and his wife.

Nothing to report from me and my friends either...  It wasn't a very productive day, in total between my two friends and I we caught 9 small rock fish, and a ton of bait fish.  No halis, no WSB, etc.  Heard a report on the VHF that there was a 27" ling caught, but have no clue if that was for real,  or what the winning fish was.  Would at least like to know what won, but we decided to keep fishing since the day warmed up and the bait was easy to get...
