By mouthing off , I’m sure you mean me LOL

Well... so now your an ambassador of NCKA ...

TLA quote “ What a "local" think of me has no relevance to my life. “

Page 3 Stinson Launch 5/23

Seeing as how you have 48 post, and I have no idea who you are, I'll just respond once to your comment.  I am not an ambassador of NCKA, nor do i choose to be. I have been along time member of this forum and i have contributed much more to this fishing community then i think you have. Yes, what a "local" think of me has no relevance to my life, but when they cross a line that puts my friends the kayak fishing community in danger, i have a problem with that.

Try contributing something of value before mouthing off bro.

Damn son, you had to pop your head back up and contradict the bullshit you spewed in another thread.  Then when someone who calls you out on it, you bust out the number of post card?  Get the fuck outta here you fake ass bitch.  No one gives a shit about how many posts someone has, they all have to right to say something, especially if its calling you out on your bullshit.

Must I go into details of what a piece of trash you are so that all the newbies and people you burned bridges with can join in on this gang bang?  Just because other's don't post on your bullshit doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Spiffy did nothing wrong, he just pointed out the truth, but you hate that shit huh?  Keep posting your bs, we will call you on it and expose the true you.
Its not winter anymore, go fishing.

Oh really? I hadn't noticed it was like 80 degrees outside.  If you were coming to his rescue, that was a weak attempt.

If you like standing up for fake ass people, you're a problem too.

Are you done?  Did you get your shit out of your system or is it just in you for good?
Well, I was done with that one post until you showed up asking me stupid ass questions.  What is it that you're trying to achieve? I get it that you're one of his groupies.  If you don't like what I have to say, you can fuck off...wasn't even talking to you.
If you ain't first, you're last.

Amen Hightide!

Report:

Arrive at 5:15 and lot is almost full.  Yikes, didn't think people were so awake this early but chrome'll do that to ya'.

Hauled the kayak down and observed "the boat" jammin' close and fast right off the break where several yakkers were dealing with prep on the water.  Didn't think much of it other than that's strange.  Launching was uneventful which is good.  With all the yakkers it's amazing how big the ocean is because I was alone on the big sea and was just in a zoo of population.

Went with a dd6 5oz at 30 pulls for about 5 hours on familiar grounds and not a scratch but croaker teases and meeting a few chaps on the water.  Ricky paddling like a boss and ChuckE sailing like a boss...we all have our plans and strategies and trails and see who hits as you know.  Me...nutting...

Decide to try for a hali as the wind picks up and I find Koji drifting in about 25fow and look to my east.  Here comes Ms. Shiny rowboat, the JanieB, handmade by Lawrence who is the captain of this vessel.  Rowing against the wind, we greet and get back to fishing.

Koji and I are talking bait and hope and hali's and we get a holler from Lawrence.  "I got a salmon on and it's a big one!"  Koji and I look at each other with raised eyebrow and a bit cross eyed and lone behold his rod is bent, a little, and he's yelling, "I lost my net, it's that way!"  "What do you want?  Should we deal with your fish or deal with your net?"  I holler back.  After slight hesitation he responds, "the fish!"  "I'll get you my net!"  I yell.  I paddle over and he's fighting this fish in the wind on his rowboat, no net, no sonar, on a broken rod with maybe 2-3 guides on it being the reason for no bendo...

I back off and Koji and I watch in amazement after 3 attempts the salmon is in the boat and Lawrence is elated.  "Beautiful Silver,"  he yells.  Koji and I wince and respond, "What?"  "Beautiful Silver" he says again.  "Coho?  You have to throw it back!"  "Throw it back?"  he yells puzzled but open.  "What color are the gums?  White or Black?"  "Black!"  he yells.  "That's a King not a Coho, you're good!" we yell.  Maybe 12lbs...

We pick up a little of the stoke and realize, dang...low tide, 27fow, 20 ft down on a mooched herring got this done...we start mooching after I get my net back and take a few pics for him.

Wind picks up fierce and I paddle back in conditions I promised never to meet again so goes my plans.  Sideways gust chop slop.  Paddling west to land north kind of wind.  Uneventful yet successful landing only to reach my vehicle to a 61$ parking ticket for facing the wrong direction parked on a one way. :smt012  Gotta pay to play.

No more weekends for me.  Catch me on a Monday or any other weekday that is fishy.   :smt006

Thanks for the report.  Crowds, drama, wind, skunk.  Doesn't sound fun.

Seems like the spotburn is getting real.  Youtubers should be more mindful...

I'm glad someone else said it first! I agree. Social media has ruined too many fishing, foraging, and hiking spots. Bragging online attracts crowds. And with crowds come fees, regulations, and conflict. The art of secrecy has died. Everyone needs to show the world everything they're doing or else it's for nothing. Farewell to the quiet and humble days of kayak fishing.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Glad the kayakers are safe - all that matters.

My report to distract from the negativity:

I was in the Red Island with one ama and motor. Launched sunrise with the rest of the fleet. Made my way out toward south of Dux.
Dropped my bait in 50 FOW, 30 pulls. Silver KA, Green flasher. Heard the commotion on the radio - I asked what was going on. Moments later, I see the boater pass me down south, glaring me down.  :smt006

Few minutes later as I'm daydreaming about the whale that just surfaced near me my rod gets slammed. Line strips. Snag? Keeps stripping. Pick up the rod, crank down, no give.... hmm not looking good.

Then he relaxes. I feel a headshake. Oh! I'm on! Line suddenly slacks. No no no no! I crank fast with my high speed with no tension. Feels like it's gone.

Line gets tight... yes! Keep tension.

Does this to me twice more, that felt like forever. In the bag, back to dry land before 10:30.

Eddie and Koji, I didn't see you guys but would've said hi.

Score! Congrats! Awesome stuff. So you headed towards RP along Stinson? Good call. There was a ton of bird activity there the day before.
