Fished to Dux and then to Rocky point and no action. Tried everything from 25 to 55otw fished a red rotary killer.  Seas a bit rough and wind came up by noon.

Everyone I spoke with on the water same story.

I'm impressed that you got out there and gave it a shot. Thanks for the report.

I heard the whole town of Bolinas is closed, Stinson beach is closed.
How did you launch there? Did you park in the residential area?

ALL Marin County beaches are closed to vehicle access. The only people allowed on the beach are those who live close enough to walk there or bike there. It doesn’t matter if parking spots are blocked off or not - driving your kayak out to Bolinas for a day of kayaking is a violation.

Bolinas is a very unique and special place. The more we as a kayaking community respect their wishes, the more welcome we will be.

I think after those YouTube sensations blew up the halibut spot last year, the Bolinas locals have already had it with us kayakers. COVID-19 might be what pushes them to start slashing tires and smashing windows of disrespectful outsiders.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

I sure hope not.

That would be a real shame. :(

Yeah, a few of our NCKA youtubers blew up Bolinas and really pissed off some of the locals.
Now, with kayakers not respecting the local SIP laws, no wonder we won't feel welcomed there when things open up.

I"m going to sound like a cranky old fart, but Please people, if you have to drive here, stay THE FUCK OUT of Marin until the parks are actually opened.

Those of us who live here would like to be able to continue to hike and bike and fish (yes i can get there without the damn car) in our backyards.  We had people here in fairfax trying to park on our 15 foot wide street.  We already lost access once early in this when you fools all drove over and crammed the place.  Don't do that to us again.

Jesus. Here we go again.

After all of the previous discussions here and all of the media and signs, etc. asking people not to go ruin stuff for others.

What a complete lack of common sense and common courtesy some of our members have shown lately.

Do we start deleting these types of posts or do we let them stay and let these people get the verbal beat down that they deserve?

Serious question.

I guess I’m in favor of giving people the benefit of the doubt unless/until it becomes apparent that they are knowingly violating an order meant to protect coastal communities.

We want to EXPAND the number of accessible kayak launches by setting a good example and advocating for the sport in a positive manner. Violating shelter in place orders and upsetting close-knit coastal communities sure isn’t going to help...

I reached out to saucyangler89 privately. I wanted to know if he understood the SIP orders. I hope he responds to the thread.

Rock Hopper, I don’t know you but take it you’re an OG on this site. I’d like to think that as a community, us kayakers on NCKA represent the best of sportsmanship, outdoorsmen, camaraderie. I support your efforts to maintain our integrity and ensure positive public perception of NCKA and ocean kayak fisherman. Thanks for that!

Banning/deleting posts is a slippery slope. Twitter is trying to do this too. I don’t think they’ve quite figured it out. I think it’s hard to change people’s behaviors.  All we can really do is control our own.
