         Don't keep it a secret !      I'm want in !   :smt006

I  finally finished my porch rebuild just in time for the state to open up camping again.  I am ready for some saltwater therapy!

Built in 1926 , this turned out to be a little harder than expected.   Still,  I kinda enjoyed having the time to work on all the details to make it come out right.     I figure it should be good for another 100 yrs.

In that there is no place to launch the yak north of Jenner near my favorite spots I had to settle for a visual experience of the area painted in SIP in the studio. Home project that is leading toward temptation.

Just past Myers grade on 1? nice

That's " Fiberon "     Really impressed with it over the trex / timbertech  brands.     https://www.fiberondecking.com/products/decking

Great job!  Looks beautiful.  Take from one old man to a future old man, you'll be glad you did it right as you sit in that rocking chair yelling at the kids to keep off the lawn!  Ha!

Thanks Jerry !       I think were about the same age ...  1954 vintage.  :smt044

I am seeking advices/suggestions on my next SIP project.  I am planning to replace the rotten frame on my window (see attached pictures).  The section I am concerned with is the "half-moon" shape board.  Thinking about replace it with plywood (cutting out from a 4'x8' plywood, but looking for a better lasting material.  Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

You can use several pieces of 1x12 (wood type of your choice) and glue them together with good exterior glue such that they cover the area of your arch.  Then, using a jig saw, cut out your arch pattern.
I have done this using 2x12s for an archway in my garden and it worked well

Thanks for the suggestion Oldfart.  Unfortunately, the original board is rottened so I don't think I can glue or remove it in tact!

I think they mean more along the lines of this sort of thing to create a blank, and then cut the nice curves out of this. It avoids having the big center off-cut. its also how boat keels are made so thats kinda of exciting and on theme for being kayakers :P

There's lots of composite trim options out there that would work for your arch. Generally I'm not a fan of PVC, but for durability it's hard to beat here.

This flat stock from Certainteed can be heat-formed to your desired radius:
https://www.certainteed.com/trim/heat-formed-arches/

Or you can always go the custom route:
https://www.architecturaldepot.com/ARCPMCK.html

Aside from that, christainbrat has the right idea. Glue up half of an octagon that you can trim to a half-arch.

Nice. I used the Fiberon Concordia Symmetry in Graphite for a screened porch last year - turned out really nice. I haven't tried any of the more natural wood tones yet, but yours looks great.
