sun and heat kill corona virus. Choose for yourself.

Ya might want to fact check that

Here is the link to fact check:

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/mar/11/facebook-posts/sun-exposure-does-not-kill-coronavirus/
so, for those that didn't get my sarcasm because I didn't include emogees. Sun and toilet paper will not save you. I'm glad y'all are so concerned. And I hope when you get sick you take the 10 un-paid days to isolate in place. That is NOT WHAT I SEE HAPPENING. Our dealership was exposed by a lady that dropped off her car in the morning ( no symptoms ) and couldn't come get it at the end of the day because she had gotten symptoms during the day, had been tested and was positive for the .monster virus. Coughing people in stores at gas pumps, fast food restaurants, shops..... My point iz. I will take precautions. Wash etc. I will not stop going outside to play/live. I won't be huggin on my new grandchildren. I will probably be exposed and might even get sick. I work on people's cars!!! Talk about germs! But I'll bet (possibly) my life, this will end up like all the other scares and at the end of it all. Either I or those that chose to live in fear, panic... Are going to have to live with their decision and how you deal with people during this current health scare. I have been threw all sorts of them. Caught some too. Sucked! But I Will be doing my thing to keep cars going. Recreating, camping, fishing. Be comfortable with your decisions. Don't attack others for theirs. You don't have to join me. I might just be a dick soon to be sick and wrong....😆😈😬

Really Ron? Placer county public health Website is still only showing 8 cases (updated today after your post). Nevada county is also showing the same number of cases, 0.

I’d post screenshots, but you know me well enough to know that I check my sources.

Dude, you think the customer lied about that? Her car is still there. Maybe she didn't have the money to pay her bill? Seems like a stretch just to get out of picking up her car..... But thanks for the "hey, but...."
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Nobody wants to take away your fishing time. This is about limiting human to human contact for the next few weeks. I plan to fish the f$&k out of this social distancing period. It may be helpful if you were to read an article about social distancing, what it is and how it works. If you’re interested I’d be happy to find a good article about it. This isn’t about fear for me, it’s about giving those who are vulnerable a fighting chance.

We initially planned to decide after 24 hours. I think it’s safe to say that the awards are postponed, but I’ll let PK make the official announcement.

GD here we go again Adam. Apparantly enough is not enough with your stern point of views and debacles. I read plenty thank you. A fighting chance for the vulnerable huh? Then they don't need to come including you. You obviously are fearful or else you wouldn't feel the need to Always voice your concerns about everything,  in every thread. And you wonder why bro you have a lot of beef with everyone. I love and respect you bro but enough is enough

Ok, based on input from the community, we are postponing the AOTY DOTY Awards Ceremony.
We are currently trying to determine the rescheduled date (maybe may 2; anything before May is still sketchy). By then, rockfish, salmon, and halibut be going full swing...so maybe even a different location? The events calendar is already pretty full and we don’t want to encroach on any other pre established events. As soon as we figure out the new date, it will be posted here on NCKA. And of course apologies to all the folks & their families who will have to change their plans. The Committee took all this into consideration.

The main concern with an awards ceremony is that people basically NEED to be there if they want to receive their well-deserved award and the accolades that go along with winning. There’s a lot of exchanging of prizes and handshakes, plus the huge potluck. So it’s different than a regular Fish & Chill or even a tourney. And we don’t want to essentially “force people to attend” an event during this time of uncertainty. I hope that makes sense.

With that said, personally I still plan to go camping at Berryessa. My family will no longer be joining me, and we won’t have a big potluck like normal. But I plan to socially distance myself in da yak for hours on end :-) Then maybe hang out around the campfire with friends.

I can still bring the big fish plaques with me—for folks who can’t attend the rescheduled awards ceremony. In which case, at the TBD awards ceremony we would still announce your name & give props but you would already have your plaque. But I also don’t want to discourage anybody from attending the rescheduled awards ceremony.

Thanks again for the input and for being understanding of why we made this decision to postpone the awards ceremony.

Just seeing this post.  Late to the party again. Crazy few days.   Got in a bad car wreck and totaled my truck.  Few sore ribs but all were ok.  Last night dog got skunked.   And coronavirus freak out is kicking in up here too.  I could sure use some time fishing with friends but I’m feeling the whole social distancing thing.  Not for myself but for the people I care about.  Thanks SinCoast for making the call.  It’s much appreciated.

Hopefully this thing works itself out soon!
