Well, I just gotta assume anything I say or post is offensive to someone and sometimes to everyone.  But then I'm getting old or am old, depending on who is making the determination and I just do not give a shit any more who I piss off with my words.  No one seems to give a shit that they piss me off in the first place.
So I'll just lead off with the most recent crap I've heard about that has me pissed off;  All these protesting kids who actually believe that global warming is going to end the world as we know it within the next 20 years.   What a mind wash these kids are subjected to.
And just in case I'm NOT making myself clear; Global warming is a hoax.  And man-made global warming is a double hoax.   Lies based on greed.  A scam that transcends all other scams in the history of scams combined.  A lie with no bounds to the point the liars do not care how much they are harming the next generations with their lies.  Science today on global warming has about as much fact and science behind it as science once held that the universe revolved around the earth.  Science constantly proves itself to be wrong, is constantly updating, correcting and recorrecting.  Hell, they can't even predict the weather out past 5 days without a 50/50 chance of getting it wrong and you're going to tell me they can pronounce we are the cause of global warming?!!

And don't go jumping down MY throat, this is all on OldFart!  Speaking of which, corned beef and cabbage today will result in a lot of global warming from me later on.  Ha!

And smoking as never  caused cancer...   Putin is America's friend..  Kim Jung Un is really a nice guy...   Unbelieveable how  stupid  people can be...         Gawd,,,  I came here to get away from the idiots on FB... :smt011

so how about them UFO's?  and should there be a State of Jefferson?  and do you believe in God?  and are you pro Trump or against Trump?  And isn't it interesting that the vast majority of the 9/11 terrorists came into our country on Saudi Arabia Visa's and passports?

UFO's; Not space aliens.  At least not to the point Trump, as commander in chief was briefed on the topic or we'd have heard about a space wall by now.  Oh, wait.  Trump is formulating a new branch of of the military; The Space Force I think.  Uh Oh....

State of Jefferson;  Actually I think the West Coast needs as many states as the East Coast has.  We are way under represented and California is way to large for one state government to best serve all it's residents. (Notice I did NOT call them citizens...)

God; yes, but probably not in the sense most people claim to believe in God.  Religion is the antithesis of God.

Trump; The lesser of two evils.  I shutter to think what would have happened if Hillary had gotten into office.  She is just felt too entitled in my opinion, thinking she deserved that position and it was owed to her.  Hardly the heart of a servant of the people. Many other fine candidates that weren't flamboyant enough to get the press's attention.

911; terrorism knows no bounds.  Proving evil can come from anywhere at anytime from any source, it's dangerous to only look for it to come from one direction or another.  Part of the solution is putting more guns in hands of vetted citizens instead of stripping away means of defense and thereby assuring terrorists will succeed before they can be neutralized.

There is a slight chance that 1% of the population may be psycho killers who could potentially use a firearm to commit mass murder...so let’s give everybody firearms. Heck, let’s mandate it.

Damn, how is this even still a debate, especially in the fishing community!

It's still a debate because Global Warming is not sound science.
1. It is not elegant
2. It contains several arbitrary, adjustable elements
3. It neither agrees with or explains all existing observations
4. It fails to make detailed predictions about future observations that could disprove Global Warming if the current predictions are not borne out

I spent a large part of my working career as a Hydrographer.
I specifically worked developing models for the measurement and description of the physical features of oceans, seas, coastal areas, lakes and rivers, as well as with the prediction of their change over time.

Science isn't about passion, which, unfortunately, is exactly what young people are being brain washed into thinking is truth.  It is about the intellectual and practical study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
I'd enjoy discussing model-dependent realism with anyone familiar with the concept.
Model-dependent realism is a view of scientific inquiry that focuses on the role of scientific models of phenomena.
Many scientists do assume that the physical models which they work with represent the actual underlying physical reality of how nature operates. The problem, of course, is that scientists of the past have also believed this about their own theories and in almost every case their models have been shown by later research to have been incomplete.

But hey!  I'm just old, senile, dumb AND brain washed so don't take my word for it.  Steven Hawking can better explain model dependent realism in his book 'The Grand Design'.
Quote
Model-dependent realism is based on the idea that our brains interpret the input from our sensory organs by making a model of the world. When such a model is successful at explaining events, we tend to attribute to it, and to the elements and concepts that constitute it, the quality of reality or absolute truth.
According to model-dependent realism, it is pointless to ask whether a model is real, only whether it agrees with observation. If there are two models that both agree with observation ... then one cannot say that one is more real than another. One can use whichever model is more convenient in the situation under consideration.

Whether it's true or not true are we really willing to take the chance the scientists got it right this time?  Maybe if you don't have grandkids...

We have to ask what the solution is. Outlawing incandescent light bulbs delays the temperature rise by only minutes and is not really helpful. To really accomplish the prevention of global warming we pretty much need to eliminate the use of fossil fuels. Are you really willing to do that to the people of the world? Many global warming alarmists think the worlds population needs to be drastically reduced. Who do we eliminate, maybe those grandkids you’re talking about? There is a large anti technology, anti industrial religious fervor behind this movement. Is returning to a lifestyle of the 1700’s a good solution? That is the direction most alarmists want to go. Some people believe in a creative solution that involves inventing new technologies that will reduce the production of greenhouse gasses. Look deeper, past the headlines to see what it really is that is being offered as a solution and will it really help and at what physical and economic cost.
