FIRE HELP and PIF Thread

I originally started this thread , but since Big Jim & A-Hulls/PIF ,ravensblack and bmb are much better ambassadors of cheer and goodwill ,its now theirs .Thanks for stepping up and helping those less fortunate.

My family lost multiple homes in Redwood Valley.  We ran from the fire before there were evacuation notices- everyone made it out safe.  For now I am focusing on helping my Dad.  He is an xxl+.  A couple nice items that he will use for the next six months or more could be a big help.  I am now back at my rental in Vallejo but also work in SF.  Feel free to send me a personal message.  I also don't want to overwhelm him.

So sad and scary....

PIF for sure is here and wants to help out as needed.

We have already been talking and were thinking once the smoke clears we could assess who all needs our help and go from there...

But since I have been getting a lot of PMs, and this has potentially affected so many members, and since we always try and be as transparent as possible, I figure we can get feedback and ideas etc here on this thread..

Obviously if there is an emergency need right away for $$ please let us know and we can do our best to help out and zap $$ ASAP...

I have heard from multiple sources that Victorg lost everything...and ravensblack has told me that if anyone donates $25 to victorg he will credit them that $ for Albion Open 2018.

I have also got a PM from a member who has a brand new kayak he is willing to give to fundraising efforts/raffles etc...

We have $9,362 available for PIF right now, can see recent screenshots here:

If people want to send $ for victorg via the PIF PayPal I can help keep track of it and make sure it gets to him and let ravensblack know who donated...

The PIF PayPal address is [email protected] and just use the friends/family option (that way there is no fee) and put for victorg...

And, we can wait for the dust to settle and see where our efforts/resources are needed and decide upon the best course of action at that time...

I'm hoping not, but if we end up with multiple members needing help we will need to determine the best way to use what we have available and what we raise...hope that makes sense?

Bill said his nephew Pinseeker and other family members lost everything in Loma Rica.

I just made a donation to PIF.  Wish it could be more but it’s been tight.  No need for raffle but that’s a good idea if it will help raise more money. 

I donated in Ft Bragg yesterday when a young mother and child was at the dollar store paying out of her pocket for coloring books, crayons, kids toys and dog snacks.  Things you don’t think about but are needed during the initial evacuation.  Many of the people evacuated came to the coast and tried to get away from the smoke so I gave her some money in case there were other things that were needed. 

Damn near broke down and cried in the store.  That’s the spirit I want all parents to teach their kids. 

I will keep praying for all who are affected.

Silver lining in his case was he was camping when it went thru, so he has his camper , truck and kayaks!
