This is true :smt044   Man, it would be really cool to see a picture of you two.  If you ever get a chance, take one ;)

The two mfpb state record holders...would be pretty cool!  :smt003

ALSO, longtime AOTY sponsor Kokatat has donated one of their very cool Bahia Predator PFDs.

https://kokatat.com/product/bahia-predator-pfd-lvubap

The PFD has arrived at my house and will be going to third place AOTY Uminchu!

Congrats Naoaki, and thank you Kokatat!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Is there anyone near Lodi, who coould pick up a kayak and PFD from The Headwaters Kayak Shop. They have donated a kayak for JAOTY/JDOTY. I can get it tomorrow if needed, but will not be at the awards until they start, it would be nice to have the kayak there early so people can check it out. Please let me know if you can help.

I'll  drive up there Friday and pick it if needed.
Please let me know

While we were celebrating over at the Brewery we had a surprise visit from Bushy, and then Dave and Jess Grigsby stopped by to have a drink and drop off their donations to the AOTY and DOTY prize tables.

Very grateful to Dave and Jess for their continued support of our events, and it is ALWAYS good to get more VHFs out there for our anglers and divers!!

Thank you Kayak Connection!!

After a sufficient amount of celebrating  :smt002 and gorging on fried hog jowls and halibut sashimi and duck fat popcorn and fried chicken and waffles, we said our goodbyes and headed over to Amadeo's house!!

Always a treat to see the artist in his element and check out the various masterpieces he has in his studio and around his house!!

His awesome wife and daughter were there as well, and we even got to meet his Mom briefly!

 :smt004

When planning these 2nd and 3rd place awards with Amadeo we decided to use each player's biggest fish for the year.

So, for AOTY we had:

2nd Place Matt Swayze with this beautiful 43 inch California Halibut (his Personal Best):

3rd Place Uminchu with this solid 37.75 inch Striped bass (his Personal Best):

http://aoty.norcalkayakanglers.com/catches/4740

And for DOTY we had:

2nd Place DG with this 26.25 inch, 13 pound TOAD of a cabbie (his personal best and 2nd biggest in DOTY history):

http://doty.norcalkayakanglers.com/catches/2429

3rd Place lorikay2 with this beautiful golden 36 inch Lingcod taken on a dive with me:

Amadeo did an excellent job on the trophies, and they are framed in beach wood and look amazing!

I am sure Matt and Naoaki and Duane and Steve are going to be very happy with them!

THANK YOU Amadeo for these beautiful works of art and for your continued support of our events, competitions and fundraisers!!

Jim

Btw Amadeo also hooked up a bunch of those badass fish decals to distribute amongst AOTY & DOTY participants. Much respect to all of our generous sponsors! Thank you x10!

Amadeo's work is first class whether it's on a print or a sticker.

Thanks Amadeo, Sean and all the sponsors.  I can't wait to see everybody this weekend.

Sad to say but it looks like I won't be able to make it this weekend. If it was closer and I could do a one day deal out of it that would work, but I've missed too much work being sick and helping my brother move in the last 3 weeks. Thanks for all the hard work everyone is doing for AOTY/DOTY, I'm sure it will be a fun time.
