Thanks Jim.  Good point.  The growth rate is something we should all at least be aware of.  I'm in complete support of releasing oversize sturgeon.

... although I don't agree with the weights.  According to the chart, my 55" dino should have weighed around 49# and would have been 16.5 years old.  However, I weighed that fish on two scales and the highest weight shown was only 38#.  I checked the chart weight for Freddie's big dino too and it was way off too.

My fifty-five incher sure felt like every bit of forty-nine pounds.  My two-and-a-half year old is forty pounds, and the sturgy was noticeably heavier.  I know that's not very scientific...
