Just curious what people here use for home defense? Last night we had a random vehicle drive onto our property looking very suspicious and my girlfriend has always held a strict no-gun policy. Now that we live on 5 acres of land her views are slowly changing. We have security lights and in the process of installing cameras but in my opinion if somebody/something has the stones to drive/walk in a 100 yard drive way to our property they may want to leave with more than just visual layout of the land.

Its pretty rare somebody comes onto our land without our knowledge because its a 1-way in and out blocked off by fencing and canal and unfortunately right now we can't add a gate because the city uses are road to access the canal.

Guard dogs, shotgun, "sport rifle", and handguns!  My girl hated guns but after taking her to the shooting range a couple of times, and enjoying the experience, she can now tolerate my love for guns.

I think that's what I need to do, we have the dogs just need the weapons now. Thanks bro for the tips!

My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

mini 14s are sick!  But I would go 12 gauge for homedefense.  I think aiming a rifle or pistol in high stress situation might be more difficult than point, shoot, and spread!!  Plus, racking a gauge is quite a deterring noise in itself.

Forget racking the shotgun when you need to use it - Have it racked, on safety, and ready to Rock N Roll.  Let the first noise they hear be a BOOM!  No mercy!
