I feel that if the date is changed then a full refund should be offered.

Changing the location is the best move, IMO.

Is there any interest in a crab pot modification workshop?  We could get a couple dremels, some engraver, stainless tags, stainless zipties and a spool of #120 rotting cotton and make our old traps legal.

I live close by so I don't have reservations but I took days off work.  So I guess it's back to work those days.  No sense wasting vacation time.

It's 50% of your deposit of one night camping fee, not the total for your stay.  I was charged $19 to cancel.

Trinidad Rockfish Wars Update: TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED!

Trinidad Rockfish Wars Update:

We are rescheduling the 6th Annual Trinidad Rockfish Wars for Saturday, October 22nd. There will either be a tournament & potluck/party or just a potluck/party. Weather & wind are looking way better that day. We still don't know about swell, but the swell report up to the 19th is already looking better, with no signs of a storm for the next couple/few weeks.

If you have a reservation at Emerald Forest in Trinidad, please call them and have them move it to the 22nd or cancel your reservation if you can't make it.
People safety is a big concern with our tournament. We do not want to put people in harms way. We want to continue this tournament for years to come.

I'm still waiting on Trinidad Rancheria. They own the land and I just want to make sure they are cool with it. I'm sure they will be.

Kayak Greg aka Cajun will be contacting everyone individually that signed up and giving them their options as well.

If you can't make the tournament. We will either get you your goodie bag & shirt mailed to you (preferred way) or we can issue a refund. Please email me by Wednesday October 12th if you need a refund, otherwise you are getting a goodie bag and badass, locally made, tshirt mailed to you. Email me at aaron@pacificoutfitters.com

Thank you,

Tournament Director

Totally agree with the decision to postpone for safety,  unfortunatly, I have other obligations for the 22nd. I'll try to arrange to have someone pick up my goody bag and shirt.
Good luck everyone

No easy answers to satisfy all parties here.  With all the rain forecasted for this storm, Humboldt Bay could easily turn into Chocolate Milk Bay and the fishing would suck for everything.  And then there are the logistics of finding an area large enough to accommodate 120+ kayakers and parking for 100+ vehicles.  No easy feat.

Keeping my fingers crossed for decent weather the weekend of the 22nd!

Good call on the postponement , the only trouble will be owing the boss big time to make the change  :smt012 , hope to see most of you on the 22nd.
