Trinidad Rockfish Wars 10/15/16 POSTPONED UNTIL 10/22!!

LAME! ....,,,Made plans for this months ago and booked a cottage for Friday Saturday. Gone the 22nd. I understand the weather is not fishable but a raffle and potluck is way more fare then moving that date 7 days later and would give all the registered partisapants equal chances to win prizes and hang with friends. Just have to speak my mind and rant   

Totally understand that you can't control the weather so I agree with cancellation or date change.
However, with the weather and the event change, Emerald Forest should be more flexible with their  cancelation policy.
Just saying, leaves a bad feeling about ever dealing with them in the future

Have you tried to call Emerald forest ? Maybe they can give you credit for a later date ? , so you don't lose your deposit.

Is there a precedent for postponing a kayak fishing tournament on NCKA due to weather/seas or is this the first time?

I once had to postpone an event at Davenport due to a fire closing the highway, so yah, it happens. Just have to improvise the best you can and try to do what's best for the majority

but that clear lake event in the torrential down pour was awesome, die hards don't care about the WX, its about the camaraderie

It's still game on for me as well. Got nothing better to do. Got a new partner and I atleast look for ward to having an awesome shindig and meeting some new people in the kayak fishing world
