Nope.  Just salmon for ocean fishing.

There are "daily" limits, and "possession" limits.  For the most part, they are one and the same unless specifically noted otherwise in the regulations.  Given that there is no separate "possession" limit mentioned for rockfish, then the possession limit is the same as the daily limit (10 fish).  However, you look at ocean salmon and the regulations say a "daily" limit of 2 fish, and a "possession" limit of 4 fish.  So that means if you fished for a weekend, you could legally keep two days' worth of salmon limits (4 salmon) in your cooler.

If you gift your catch it is no longer in your possession and does not count against your possession limit.  It still counts against your daily limit so as long as you catch a limit today, gift it to your wife today, then catch your limit tomorrow and keep that for yourself you are within the regs.

I don't see that as bending the regs, it's just the way it is.  If you have kids you can gift to them too.  Bigger families eat more food, that's life.  Oregon requires you to fill out a gift form but you can still do the same thing there too.  I think it makes perfect sense.

There are also special 2 day possesion limits for some overnight boat trips and I saw some 2 day limits for trout in some districts.

How will you transfer possession if they aren't with you?  You can't unpossess something that is still physically in your possession by claiming that you gave it to someone else that isn't there.  Thats true for fish, cocaine, or anything else LEA might find in your car/cooler/pocket/etc.

I understand the issue, but possesion limits count at home as well. If my wife and I both have a possesion limit at home, and she is not home, it is a similar issue.

Your home is different than your cooler in the back of your pickup at the coast.

If you have 2 possession limits in a two person home, you are not permitted to take any more fish until those fish are no longer in your possession.  You can consume them or give them away.

If you have a warden going through your cooler at home you've got way bigger problems than simple over-limit violations.
