No need, just show up and pay your money, find some room and set up camp.

They give us a group area - $25 per night per person.  It's always been enough space for everyone, and it's a good deal compared to getting your own very small site for like $40 or more...

Eric, please post updates on the making of the Hawg Troughs. I can't be the only one who loves to see the process of finding an old growth log and transforming it into a trough!!

@snapperhead,  you are not alone.

@Eric, please do, it gives us city folk a glimpse into a part of the state we long to escape to and inspires by showing a man who is creative and passionate about his craft .

Thanks, you guys.  :smt001

I am actually using a piece of redwood that I got with my chainsaw two years ago (for GS8) - I learned that year that I had to let the wood dry out longer or it didn't sand right, and the polyurethane bubbled.  So that four and a half foot hunk in the photo above has been leaning up against the wall in my 'greenhouse' area for two years.  It's in great shape except for a few splatters of oil from my deep fryer.  I don't grow anything in the greenhouse - it's a storage area where I dry out redwood and deep fry fish and abalone.  :smt004

It's come to my attention that some are having a hard time joining NCKA due to a mailer issue within the site.  This being the case, I am waiving the NCKA membership requirement for attending GSX.  A solid sponsor is still required, and any non-member who signs up for the tourney needs to understand that the membership requirement is all about safety and being a conscientious contributor to the community here and OTW.

Thanks.  :smt001

They were just checking everyone's fishing license, ID and hooks as well as asking about safety equipment.  My buddy David didn't have a whistle, so they gave him one.  They were cool, but they really need to consider how far off course they cause a human powered boat to end up when there's current ripping.
