Like anything subjective, no way will you get everyone to agree 100% across the board.
And IMO, if anyone is worried that the rules might be posted a week or two after the season starts, take a Xanex. You're totally missing the original point of the tournament.
Originally it was about getting people to target species that they may never have even considered targeting. It was about building friendships, being outdoors and HAVING FUN.
The bonus to the original plan is the money generated goes to a great cause.
Personally, I don't give a fat rats ass how good of a fisherman or diver you are or think you are. What matters to me is are you cool to be around? Can you take care of yourself? Are you having fun?
I applaud those involved in running the show. For the most part it's like volunteering to run the complaint department at any business that deals with the public. Everybody is right...except you.
And does anyone really think they don't consider the opinions of others? Really? Everybody has one and at some point you have to say enough is enough.
If your goal is to win a new kayak, maybe stave off a few trips, put that money to the side and save up for one.
If your goal is to be recognized as a great fisherman or diver; well here it is. You're the best!
Bottom line is that if you want to play; play. If you don't; don't. It is what it is.
There's a shitload of worse things going on around the world than worrying about the length of a fish.
