Do you think that AOTY Suggestions From Members Should be Considered?

 

What Id like to know is who chooses the AOTY/DOTY/JRDOTY/Etc. committee.

 

I voted yes for all three Al.

But dude, if you are so unhappy with it don't play. Really.

Who and what don't you like about the AOTY committee?? PK? Sonny? Rob? Adam?

Yes, in an ideal world changes should be presented well in advance and there should be time for discussion...same with DOTY.

But, NO ONE is getting paid for the hours and hours they spend on AOTY and DOTY, and the profits all go to PIF.

Your public bashing of a comp that raises $$ for our charity seems weird to me personally.

But whatever, this is one of the main reasons I want nothing to do with AOTY except for handling the PayPal stuff that helps PIF.

Anybody who wants to help out send me a PM.

DOTY committee is composed of me, nelson, Charlie and Pete. People I invited to help me out after Fuzz quit then Rick quit then Rob (who fuzz nominated to be his replacement) quit.

Juniors last year were handled by james Rider because he volunteered to do it and did a great job and got killer prizes for the juniors.

If you think you can do better, you are more than welcome to take it on I'm sure!!

As you can tell from last night Jim I was a little upset with how things went down with the JAOTY this year. NO DOUBT James did a wonderfull job on the prizes etc> Im sure I could not do better! BUT we should re think the way it was run this year. You know what im talking about.

Jim, show me where the suggestions were considered, voted on, and approved and I'll shut my trap.  But year after year I see the same thing happen.  People that want to voice their opinions get shot down and ridiculed as if their thoughts and suggestions aren't valid or somehow feel that discussing it detracts from fundraising efforts.  That's what i'm tired of Jim. 

What do you want Andy? Junior pics to be held to the same quality as adult pics?

I am not playing aoty for the prize cause I know I will never win.
Bragging rights and fun constitute aoty for me.
It's no big deal when rules are posted and what waters are available to me, I want to try and fish all of them.
I could help out a bit with stuff, just let me know.

Well like you said last night via text. ALL FISH WERE EXCEPTED.. Well that didn't seem to be the case with Brian. According to him and his crew some pics of his fish were deleted from Melones. Those fish would not have put him in first place but that's not the point. Some juniors worked there asses off this year like you did. Targetting numerous lakes and species being very carefull to submit the fish with there mouths open etc. Maybe there should be a cut off of age or something?? I don't know. Maybe a taoty? Tot angler of the year? Again I don't know just frustrated.
