2017 AOTY Rule Suggestions - go for it

Just saw the poll. Lake Isabella and Lake Nacimiento are not within the defined borders of Northern California. So, why add them?   

SO some of the Monterey County residents don't have to fckn drive three hours north for a good fresh water multi specie lake.

You have Lake San Antonio.  It has stripers, bass, crappie, catfish, etc.  How does that not work for a good multi species freshwater lake.  Yall got the biggest perch which is an easy 200pter as well as the depth ability to get 200pt+ bocaccio rockfish.  You also have lots of ca halibut and longer rockfish season so I would say it's plenty fair.

It was open for half of the year at least cause there are several stripers and other fish entered in AOTY from there last year.

If I happen to pull off a win this year I would ask that the awards ceremony be in Mendocino, Lake county or Humboldt otherwise there's a high possibility I wouldn't make it.  I'll try and make this, but doubt it since I will be  going to San Francisco on February 20th already for some music at the Warfield.

I assume people replying to this thread are AOTY participants. Because otherwise, your opinion on this matter does not hold much sway with the AOTY Committee. But that should be obvious.

Pretty disappointed in this thread...  Why cant changes be discussed for this years competition?    When were we supposed to discuss changes then?  Why not just state the truth:  No discussing AOTY rules, ever.

Seems to me there is plenty of opportunities for discussion of AOTY and DOTY rules...13 pages of it in August 2014 for 2015 changes.

I would not be offended if rules were changed a few days into the new year - this is supposed to be fun - we're not trying to amend the constitution for Christ's sake

Rockfish season was still open, we were busy and actually had stuff to do then.  Now that rf is over its winter so we need something to complain/argue about.

So where are the 2016 rules then, if they have already been set in stone?  Has the new AOTY/DOTY committee been formed already as well?
