I had a great time in Albion.

if being a Pro Stuff means that you can not take pictures with another kayak then why do you enter a contest to win that other kayak?

For me it is the thrill of winning. The other thing is this, I spend 1000's of dollars fishing, promoting my brand, travel to tournaments to promote the brand, working shows, and more. If I win a kayak, paddle, or anything else that is not my brand, or even if it is, I do not need another kayak to add to my 6. When I sell a product I won it ends up being a deeply discounted deal for whoever I sell it to, in the club or out, and I can recover some of the 1000's I spend every year doing my job of "Promotional Staff". That is why winning a prize is nice.
     MOST Pro Staffers sign a contract to use our brand, not only kayaks, but rods, FF's, paddles etc. exclusively. How would it look if I won a paddle and then took a picture with it to find it in print for promotional purposes for another brand? I agree that tourney directors can do whatever they want and that is fine. I still bought raffle tickets at Albion.

Could you imagine a bigtime bass fishing tournament disallowing anglers who are sponsored? Good luck getting a major corporation to kick-down prizes (as an event 'sponsor'). It's a two-way street and each party needs to help the other; it's mutually beneficial for event participants, organizers, and sponsors. That's how this relationship works!
Fortunately, I am not personally affected by special exemptions like this rule at the Fall Classic...because it's written into my contract with Coors Light...I'm allowed to test other brands because Coors Light values my input, and is dedicated to producing the highest-quality water/beer. AND TWIIINS!

I hope that for whatever extent that Spike has been flaky with the NCKA community in the past, that he and his tournament can gain some ground on earning some respect.

I'm still waiting for a shirt from a couple of years ago.   :smt004

I thought he ended up making good on the shirts, albeit much later. I know I got mine. How did last years go? I wasn't there.  I don't remember hearing about any issues.

I'm not participating this year either for my own reasons. I'll be at secret spot #6 with my SCSS homies.

Last year he made good on his shirts because He didn't give any away!  :smt005
 Never got mine either but no issues. I didn't join because one 65 is a little high for a tourney with no shirt or goody bag. Prizes are very vague 2nd TBA , 3rd TBA  when will these be determined and will they have any value?  :smt044 It says that it includes Friday dinner but if you get there late you're sol but everyone else is full!  :smt012  I like Spike but not worth this tourney with so many other tourneys to choose from people  that contribute to our site much more. I hope to hit the SCSS is at all possible.!

Richard = Dick ... its a gringo thing  :smt002 :smt003

DUH! YOU DICK!

The name Richard is thought by most etymologists to derive from the Proto-Germanic ‘Rikharthu’, meaning more or less “hard ruler” (‘Rik-‘ meaning ‘ruler’ and ‘-harthu’ meaning ‘hard’).  This was adopted into Old High German as ‘Ricohard’, and from there to Old French, then Old English as ‘Richeard’, and today as ‘Richard’.
