Went to Pleasure Cove Marina today to check it out.  The drive up the canyon from Winters was beautiful.  Redbud, lunpine, and poppies were in bloom against the spring green hillsides.  Oh yeah, the poison oak was sprouting pretty new red leaves  :smt001
The ladies in the office were unaware of the tournament.  March 21 was open on their calendar but there were bass tournaments the week before and following.  After driving around and checking things out I reserved campsite 127.  The entrance to the main tent camping area (sites 24-106)  is around 0.5 miles from the launch.  Sites 127-136 are around 0.2 miles from the launch area.  You will be unable to launch from any of the camp sites.

Ricci, do we launch the day before and beach our kayaks near the launch, and leave them there overnight?

"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.

Thanks for the scouting report! Looks like the water level is the same as last time BSS was there. And most guys just pulled their yaks up onto shore in that cove. I stayed in one of the small cabins and just slid my yak down the hill into the water...

John, I don't see a problem with leaving your yaks on shore and is recommended. Just know you will need to check in with me before launch and get your bracelet.

If I come up just for the tourney, what time should I plan to be at the marina?  (Considering the sign-up, launch, etc)

Also, for the camping; doing a little research I checked YELP reviews.  Based on those reviews, I'd be afraid to camp!

Can anyone refute the reviews and recommend this place as being safe and clean to camp and use the facilities?

It was fine last time we had the tourney there. We basically had the place to ourselves.

Jerry, freshkats tournaments will all be launching at Sunrise. I would assume launch time for the Berry Brawl'N will be right at 6. No problem coming up just for day to fish and hangout. I haven't picked an exact launch site yet, but will either be at the actual launch or by campsites. I will post the Real Launch site as soon as i figure that one out. Expect to arrive an hour before launch time.
As far as there reviews, Honestly any resort around Berry ain't 5 stars, but there fine for what they are. Most of these reviews come from summer campers when theres SOOO much more people camping. Berry draws a lot of bay area and valley folks during the summer and it can get loud, roudy, and messy at times. No worries as we will be the only group around except for the occasional bass boater. Campsites are pretty normal but fine. Only draw back they are about a 1/4 mile from the launch ramp.
