Here is my scouting report for the tournament. Me and Gary (BullShark) it the water around 7am and it was already a beautiful day, sunny, light breeze and only 1 trailer in the parking lot. Water temp was 57 degrees and visibility was around 10 ft.

I had some bass locations I marked in Google earth, converted and put on my fish finder the night before, so I had some direction from the start.
http://bransonbaits.myshopify.com/pages/google-earth-conversion
I planned on trolling a stick bait and a blade and grub for trout near shore on the way. I caught 3 trout before I could get to the main body with a few other misses. I actually dragged one trout for about 1/2 mile, poor little guy.

I targeted a piece of shore which had large rock, lay downs and stumps for bass. There was a little more wind in the main body but just enough to give me a very slow drift along the shore. I started catching fish right away and quickly figured out a productive pattern. Most of these fish were around 13 - 14 inches but I could see much large fish hangin' around so I needed to change things up. I did, and started catch the bigger fish averaging 16". I also had 3 really big fish, 2 broke me off and the second spit the hook at me, no literally right at me, it was dangerous! I actually seen the biggest spot I've ever seen. I had to be 5+ lbs easy, what a pig. She wasn't interested in what I threw at her and quickly disappeared.

After checking all my spots I switched to crappie. I targeted usual crappie looking locations. It took me a little while to find them but I did. It was a blast. Largest of the fish were around 12", sorry Ron no 18"ers for me. I never really targeted trout but they are everywhere. I caught 2 of my trout looking for crappie in less than 10'.

All in all, I caught around 25 bass, 5 trout and 6 crappie.

Final thoughts: The water got up to 62 degrees in the back coves and 60 in the main body. With the warm temps we are expecting over the next week, expect some really awesome fishing at the tourney. The larger bass that were in 15+ will be moving up. The water should stay cool enough so you can catch some trout at the top before the boaters show. The crappie should get more active for easy pick'ins on actively feeding fish.  It's going to be interesting to see how the podium will end up.

ps - I attached an example of my most score-able fish on a points sheet as an example to show how a FreshKATs scoring is done.

See you guys at the event on Saturday!

Mike

Weak showing Mike!!! :smt044 Crappie to 13" all over! Bring your Crappie gear (mr crappie brand in craw and bass imitations were getting it done)... Anyone bringing a frier and some panko!?!? Those fish were THICK!!! Bass all over~!!!!  :smt007 If you aren't catching fish on Game day, Go to your small lures. Crank baits... hit me UP after 10am (fishing hard till then)!!! I'll be out there with lures and stuff to get you on fish... I want EVERYONE TO GET AT LEAST 5 FISH!!!!! Trout, Crappie, And Bass are everywhere! Read up on how to fish for spawning and Pre spawn bass because that is the situation you WILL be fishing. Saw nest after nest being built by the males. Females are hanging in 15-20 ft of water waiting for the magic water temperature. Crappie are moving into the trees and are willing! We are going to have a blast! YOU WILL CATCH FISH!!!! Come up to rollins and let's make this one a yearly trip....
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I should have tagged along with you Mike.  I trolled all the way to the dam with a bunch of different lures without a bite, then I trolled in front of the dam with mini flashers and a night crawler at a few different depths for no bites.  Tried some points and coves on the way back to the launch for a few dinks that let go after a few seconds.  When I was most of the way back to the launch I found an area where I caught five bass, three dinks and a couple of 15 inchers.  No trout and no crappie.  Guess the mojo is gone :smt010
"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.

Rollins is like that... Keep changing lures, techniques and scents (procure) and sometimes even float a worm below a bobber.... The fish are there. Just got to get them to bite!!!

Sunday was beautiful to say the least. I only caught one bass and Joe my Cuz caught 2. Seen plenty of 17-18 in spots crushing the banks. Getting ready to spawn. It was more of relaxing day for me, or maybe I was just a Lil too hungover!  :smt012 :smt005
It was my first time to Greenhorn and the place looked really clean and nice. The campsites are literally otw and should make for some great camping and chilling. I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'll be fishing this one. As for fishing, the fish are definitely there. catching crappie here looks a real possibility for anyone. That might be my game plan. Anyways,  if your thinking about fishing this one, don't hesitate,  it's going to be Grand Time. Don't wait, sign up Now! See ya guys there!
