I seriously doubt a tweeker thief would be deterred by reading this thread while spun, but if so a thief was stopped so I'm cool with it.

they aint gonna stop...they are gonna tell folks to watch for kayaks acting funny etc..they would ,if anything, be harder to watch ,and, harder to document from a kayak, after they spread the word about this thread.......

A shark shield can give a pretty good jolt, but putting a $700 deterrent out there is out of the question…

My thoughts... These guys are steeling crab while the wardens are cozy in bed and sound asleep. If they stationed wardens at the dock for a night shift, I'm sure they would more than make up for the overtime in fees from gross over limit violations.

I really doubt these tards are risking their freedom over a measly limit of crabs. Based on reports of whole strings of pots being raided, I'm guessing these guys would go away for a very long time if they get caught.

As for the simple act of raiding someone else's pot, I think that's just a misdemeanor. It's the gross over limit that'll get them locked up.

What are the chances, say at Bodega Bay, that they didn't even launch there, but like at Tomales or someplace? Kinda like sleeping around, you never cheat in your hometown kinda thing?
