Post a real report tomorrow.  Good times.  GREAT skipper (Tom) AND deck hand (Monty).  These guys were SUPER patient with the kids and children too!!!  Thanks Craig for helping to set this up!

man...i have never been on a funner charter boat...It might have been the best fishing trip I have been around on....the kids made the day and really put it all in perspective for me!

My friends were there too and I laughed so hard and had so much fun...then I came home and ate crab like never before...gifting them along the way on my way home to neighbors and friends-with a few for my boss and co-worker left to hand out today...

I went to bed laughing...woke up laughing...great group of kids...not one complaint, not one hooked finger, kids walked that rocking boat like old sea hands...nothing but good behaved smiling happy kids all day...unreal

Randy's fish--Captain Tommy and and first mate Monty---are the best group of folks...if you ever want to take someone out on the ocean  and want them to really get that first time exp...these are the guys...I am SO glad I had steered us to go on their boat--once I saw how the captian and Monty were working with the kids and letting them pull the traps up and making them part of the crew..I knew we had really special deal going smooth

Logan and I had a blast. TIred as hell from driving back and forth in one day then cleaning all the crab but well worth it. Can't wait to d oit again! Logan definitely has some sea legs now and outfished me all day. Fish were on the small size but I am sure they will taste just fine. Get hanging with everyone and especailly hanging with Big Jim while I gave him updates to the Niners Saints game. He was so happy with the results!  :smt005

It was a great day!

Here's my perspective.  I've taken the kids out on thew lake for a"play" day of fishing & what not but my oldest daughter has been asking to head out to sea for the past year now.  So we jumped on the chance.  For me, it was all about planning & prep to make sure she had the best trip possible.  Making sure the gear was ready, plenty of extra bits of tackle to keep it simple.  I had three poles rigged, baited & ready to be fished in the event of a tangle.  Her first drop ... tangle to the other side of the boat.  The deck hand Monty was ON IT!  I came back around the boat to fid Craig has already handed my daughter off another rod & she was "in play" again!  THANKS CRAIG!  Side note:  Craig had the kids all fired up before we left the dock with handfulls of suckers & snickers bars!  These kids were amped!  After a few drops, my daughter had it dialed in with yells of "I've got two on" & "fish on the deck".  She was EXCITED to say the least!  The fish were't huge but to her, they might have been a record catch!

Fishing ended a little early, around 10, with not quite limits for the boat but smiles all around never the less.  Off to crabbing!  First pot on the deck with all eyes on it .... crab-burgler!  Off to the next pot ....  Craig got in on the action "throwing the hook" as they would say on 'Deadliest Catch'.  Pot after pot came over the rail.  My daughter even got a chance to hook the pot with the help of Craig.  Captain Tom was great about letting all the kids & adults get in on some rope pullin' action with numbers of 12-17 per pot.  Good size too!  I only saw him toss 2 or 3 back as undersize.

Monty, the deck hand, snapped some great shots on his cell phone & caught me before we got off to let me know he had some shots he wanted to share with me & the gal who runs the web site ... "would that be ok?"  I gave him my cell# in hopes I could get a copy!  Hardly made it home before he had texted me the picture.  What a guy to go out of his way to do this on ANY charter.

Captain, Crew boat & fellow fisherman all added up to the kind of day I wanted to introduce my daughter to & the kind of memories I want her to remember for her first fishing trip!

   Thanks everyone.   :smt006

Amazing day....

Will post some pics later but just wanted to say THNAK YOU to Craig trianglelaguna for going out of his way to make sure that all the kids had an awesome experience. From gear to candy to checking in and being supportive to helping them pull crab traps to showing them how to hold up a fish carcass and letting the seagulls come in and get it...

 :smt008

It was such a great group of people...even the ones we didn't know were very mellow and laid back and there was zero drama at all.  :smt007

Yeah, niners/saints score updates on Jimbo's phone and trash talking with a litle grommet Niner's fan was fun too.  :smt005

My daughter Valentina was sooo tired that when we got back to car she buckled her seat belt took a bite of a donut and fell asleep with the donut hanging out of her mouth!

 :smt005 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

Let's do it again!!!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Mony Truitt on Fb a real talent comic artist who has weekly cartoon in the foolish times...and Randy's fishing on Fb ...for epic Monty pics all week long and current mammal reports etc....google reviews  for the ship and mention Tommy and Monty..the "Sur Randy"if you guys ever do that and yelp reviews...you will see how a few folks had posted nasty ones over time but most folks who had good day dont take time to give them a good review...and you will see the review I left them last year...easy to read into which is true ...

I talked to them about charter the boat for a NCKA and friends and family day and this is the scoop

10 people 125-150 ea...our own boat

15 people 100 ea.  our own boat...salmon opening day is going to be a charter that I book and am doing so now..so get in early and lets get the ball rolling...

over 15 people it changes a tad on price for the boat but doable...do a pre tip chat and hook up Tommy and Monty..

I need to call and reserve and check what day is the opener...Tommy fished salmon pro in Alaska for 25 yrs and puts you right on the big fat school (out fishes the other boats big time on salmon counts) and they know right where the fish are holding on opening day... Captain Tommy and Monty will stuff your fridge and dinner table with the freshest best salmon on earth in one trip and shake off the skunk for the coming season
also need to get work day off if that si the case..more later..

I'm in for Salmon Charter with Valentina.

I'll take the day off work and take her out of school if need be.

Once you know date and I can confirm that work will let me bail I'll pay up front.

I've never caught a salmon.

I am going to call and check on getting the boat for the april 2015 salmon opener for an ncka and friends charter...

What's Closed:

Ocean Salmon

The recreational fishery for ocean salmon is closed from Pigeon Point to the U.S.-Mexico border as of October 6, 2014 for the remainder of the year. The 2015 season for ocean waters will be decided in April 2015 by the Pacific Fishery Management Council and the California Fish and Game Commission.
