But u dont say anything about adding oregon when thats not even Cal waters? Lol

If the idea is to bring more people into the competition by expanding the area covered, who gives a rat if its in "Cal waters"?  As pointed out, SLO is closer to Mexico than to Oregon, so its hardly "Nor Cal".  In addition, you are advocating a pretty broad expansion of species by going that far south.  Going north of the CA border for a whole 10 miles doesn't add any new species but it makes the field a bit more level by giving us far northern guys more than 5 months to fish for RCG without having to travel 4 hours+ each way.

All I'm suggesting is that if the southern guys are thrown a bone with lake nacimiento it would be fair to throw us one too since your RCG season is damn near twice as long as ours plus you have broad freshwater options that we do not have here and have to travel the 3.5 hours to clear lake or shasta anyway.

Its in the interest of fairness.

Nacimiento makes sense for Monterey county people, as does a portion of Oregon, in fairness to the extreme NorCal friends.

It takes me 4 hours to get to the coast, so how do I benefit from expansion? If everyone gets something they want it will get so complicated thg this whole thing will be a big fn mess leave it alone.

The more we talk about it the more I am leaning toward leaving it alone.

I got way too busy with work and out of state family obligations, and didn't fish very much.  When I did fish, I simply forgot to post my pictures within the time frame allowed.

Why are there even county boundaries?

So that county governments know where their jurisdiction ends.  :smt003 :smt004

If you look at a map of CA counties, there is a perfect lateral line formed along the southern borders of Monterey, Kings, Tulare, and Inyo counties. Here's a map: http://fog.ccsf.cc.ca.us/~jmorlan/ca-out8.gif

Arbitrary lines are better when they are straight though. They just appear less arbitrary that way.

Unless I'm not understanding how you are wanting to expand/remove county boundaries, it's probably to stop people from entering like, a 100# Halibut caught in Alaska off a Kayak :P
Thresher in avatar and Soupfin Shark in signature both caught and pic taken by me.

30th place / 1132.25 pts / 7 Species - AOTY 2015 (moving up a little!)

Always looking for new people to fish with!
