Stuff I'm planning to bring besides my own gear;

I have 2 folding tables, 2 camp chairs, a 2Kw generator, My camper with a fridge/freezer, 1 sleeping bag, 1 large tent that can easily sleep 4 men or 1 family, a queen sized inflatable air mattress that sits 18" off the ground (In case any vets have trouble getting up off the ground in a bag)  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00177BQJE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
A large screen tent to either sleep in, (keeps the bugs off you at night) and/or set up over food stations to keep flies out. I'd guess another 4 men easy could sleep in this thing.

Is anyone coming out of San Jose?

WE have one younger vet, good fisherman, really looking forward to this and needs a ride…  The gentleman can also be be picked up in Pleasanton Thursday or Friday as his Mom can take him into work that day to be picked up…

But drop off would be back in San Jose or the mother could also meet somewhere on Sunday too.

Thanks!

Let me check with the wife, I may be able to pull that off if he can get to P-town on Fri morning.  I hadn't confirmed the day off yet for Fri or get it cleared with the wife but I think its a strong possibility.  Would he have a tent/etc already set up or would we need to carry that as well?

I will be driving through Pleasanton with my fifth wheel on Thursday and can meet them as long as I have access to maneuver my truck and trailer.  I would not be able to take him to San Jose but could drop back off in Pleasanton in the early afternoon on Sunday. I have to drive to ft Bragg Sunday and will be leaving the lake around 11-12 am.  Let me know if nothing better works out.

That could be Good Bmb 2.0,  he's not bring much but probably a fishing pole and some clothes.  We need to outfit him with a tent , sleeping bag, gear all that stuff,  keep me posted and I'll keep you posted,

Thanks DG, I would prefer the Vets show on Friday as Thursday is more of a "volunteer day" and set up,  but we will do what we need to do with Vets first….

Update on Who's coming to Kelsey….

Hojo's Flyer Hit every possible warrior social media and warrior services contact list this side of the Nevada line and further.  Considering how many this flyer has reached, We have not had a ton of response, but still have had response.  Father and son teams, one is bringing 3 sons, 14, 15, 18,,, ouch!  Families,,, I think, with those already contacted through previous contact list, probably somewhere around thirtish participants, but….

This invitation went Everywhere with all my contacts and then they sent it to others and Veterans interested in coming are supposed to contact us before coming…

With that said, ya just never know,  :smt102  We could be slammed with people just showing up, it's a possibility, hopefully not, but a possibility….

Not really in anyones control so go with the flow and be ready for Bear…

Food….

Breakfast…

Not sure here, I'm telling folks to be somewhat self sufficient and we will be suppling a light breakfast of fruit, coffee, breakfast bars etc… as we want to go fishing, not cook….

Lunch…

I'm getting 3 to 4 Turkeys cooked up before I leave and will have that on ice.  I'm thinking we set up some coolers and set up a make shift Kitchen,,,

We'll have lots of sandwich making material, chips, drinks water whatever…  Individuals can come make a sandwich at will...

Dinner…

two nights…    Something easy and quantity …  Ideas????

Don,

dinner? how about BBQ chicken on that crappy outside grill!!!! :smt003 Gosh how I disliked that thing!!!

Got to cook here in Texas over the weekend, again. Same ole burgers and dogs so it is easy.

We are combining our outing with a kayak demo on Lake Lewisville this weekend. Should be fun trying out new kayaks and seeing folks I haven't seen in a while.

Hope all goes well as Kelsey this year. Get that big-un you missed years ago; you're due!!! :smt003

I'll help out any way I can in the kitchen.  Just let me know what you need.  I can cook burgers and dogs!  Put together a donation list of grub and other consumables needed so we can sign up for that.

Also, I'm gonna go hit the thrift stores for camping gear; bags, tents, etc.  If we use 'em, great.  When done, I'll donate them back to the thrift store.

Heads up:

http://www.va.gov/adaptivesports Just tweeted a picture of the flyer for this event (with a note to email Don for more info.) and National HOW followed it up with a retweet and thank you.

That's going to get some attention,  I'm sure.

Mr. Kelsey deserves a lot of credit for allowing this to happen on his property.  I plan to do my best on Sunday so that he finds the place better than we found it and will be bringing some hand tools; shovel, rake, leaf blower, string trimmer, etc. so it does.  I hope I get a chance to thank him personally.   We have his address.  A note of thanks from each of us in the mail might be a thoughtful gesture.
