A few weeks in Hawaii....nice!  What island?  I'm headed to Kauai for 2 weeks in July.

The shop has a great relationship with the folks out at Whiskeytown, I'd say that could be an option if more space/facilities were needed.

I like the Lake California route for the first event at least; small,  manageable, ramp, parking, picnic/bbq area,  will catch fish, etc.

Hell, we don't even know how many volunteers we actually have on board yet.

Kauai for 15 nights and however many days that ends up. Just enough business over that time to write the whole trip off.

So I was just informed that the 24th won't work for the shop, Explore North Coast is going on that weekend and May 1st we are doing a demo day out at whiskeytown. We are busy every other weekend in April also, what other weekends work for you guys?

How about May 30 or June 6, nothing on NCKA calendar. Other two weekends in May 9th is Mothers day and 23 is Memorial day weekend. Other option is to hold during on a weekday but not sure how many volunteers we can get.

Also, does Headwaters have any business relationship with The Fly Shop, they have those two prize bass ponds (2-8 lb fish) right in Redding that people pay to fish for the day, thought that might be a good spot for the event, excellent fishing and very close to the veterans facility.

Hi everyone,  I had the pleasure of stopping by the HOW booth at the Expo and meeting Don. He turned me onto this thread and I just wanted to put my hand up as a volunteer. I'm glad to see HOW coming to the area and would like to help in anyway I can.

We are moving into a larger facility late next month and it will be available for meetings or what ever you need as well as demo boats will be available around April for use.

Thanks, we are still looking at dates and if there are other locations we should consider, once set we will get together and assign some tasks.

So the Headwaters shop is open March 21st, what do  you guys think about that? I think the best thing to do is pick a night we can all meet up and get our calendars out, go over dates, and get a game plan together.

I will be in town racing that weekend. Would love to help, but will be going fast down the track in Redding.

Month of March is out for me, would need to find a place other then Lake California, unless someone else who lives here wants to sponsor.

But don't let that stop you if March is the best time should move forward seems to be plenty of offers to help.

We need to find a date that works for volunteers and warriors and not necessarily worry about what date is best for a company that looks to profit by letting HOW use some boats for a day.

If we're sticking to 10-12 warriors, I'm pretty sure all of us volunteers can cover the boats, paddles and pfd's.
