Thanks in advance.

I am available April 24---8 extra kayaks and supporting gear

You guys that are bringing 2 kayaks, are those extra, or including the one you are using to guide? When we take roll call down here I always stress in the count not to count gear you will be using. Such as I will bring 9 kayaks, but only 8 are available for vet use if I guide. From my count right now you only have 3 kayaks plus HW kayaks.

I can only make it on the 24th. My trailer will carry 7 if somebody picks it up on the 24th for the 25th date, but I would ask that they get stored inside and secure for the two weeks I am gone after that. It is pretty tricky to load 7 securely on my trailer too. It can be returned to my house and covered near my barn.  If I go on the 24th I will have 8 extra and one I use.

No problem, I only counted one from each person on the list that said they had two, not knowing who wanted to guide.

So Headwaters has 18 Eddyline kayaks, 6 Hobie kayaks, and 6 Jackson kayaks that are available. We also have PFD's and paddles that go along with all the kayaks. And for fishing gear we have 8 rod and reel setups that are available. We can also provide safety boaters if requested.

After my Dad (USAF 1950's) volunteered during a HOW event in Lodi 2 or 3 years ago, he was so moved by the event, Terri and I started talking to Don about bringing this program to our Veterans in the far North State, we've spoke to veterans groups and individuals in the area to promote the concept and recruit volunteers.  We pledged 100% support to ensure HOW would want for nothing and need nothing for an event once organized.  But it was not our place to organize.  All we needed we're the right people to step up and make it happen.  I want to thank everyone that has worked so hard to bring this together and look forward to seeing a smile, just one smile this Spring makes it all worthwhile.  Semper fi

Joe,

Glad to have you and Terri apart of this, sounds like you have done some legwork already, hopefully set the date in next couple days then we will get busy organizing. Right now it looks like April 24 or May 1.

Sorry I am late to the game, but I also have my kayak and two others, one being a older Big Game, very stable boat, the other a Prowler 13. We need to set a place to determine what tackle we will need. Looking forward to this My Grandpa was a USMC and would have enjoyed this.

So how many guides do we need ?
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.
