Rules and Regulations

This is a Black Bass series. Only black bass species will be accepted.

Pre Fishing will be allowed two days prior to each tournament stop.

The use of live bait and/or cut bait is strictly prohibited. The tournament allows artificial lures only.

All anglers are required to posses a Hawg Trough or similar measuring device for photographic evidence of fish caught.

A predetermined identifier will be applied to each Hawg Trough prior to launch at each tournament.

3 Fish Limit confirmed by CPR (Catch Photo Release)

Contestants can opt into a live Facebook chat to submit and cull photos in real time during competition.

There will be no text communication on the open chat, only photos of fish on troughs will be allowed.
Anglers are responsible for the photos they submit, if an angler submits a photo of a fish smaller than any previous fish, we will accept that photo and cull out the next largest fish.

Anglers are responsible for the function of their photo equipment (Cellular phones, Digital Cameras etc.…) If an anglers camera or phone malfunctions mid competition, they are automatically checked in as finished and can not submit any more photos. No exceptions will be made.

If an angler chooses not to participate in the live feed photo chat, he or she may utilize a pre-inspected digital camera or any other approved for of photographic equipment.

Discrepancies and questionable validity with overall inches or photos submitted will be given one “benefit of the doubt” acceptance.  All infractions by the same angler thereafter will be subject to; 2nd infraction – Season suspension.  3rd Infraction – Permanent DQ and barring from all DKBS events.

A few question for those in charge of this series:

Is this a cash payout tourney or prizes or both?

Is entry still being capped at a specific number of anglers?

What criteria are being used to decide who is in and who isn't?

Is pre fishing allowed?

Is there an off limits time period?

Is this artificial lures only?

Black bass species only?

Is there a standardized measuring device ie Hawg Troughs?

Is there a minimum size limit?

Nixster, with the nature of our format and the mass amounts of boat tournaments on the delta during the summer, we are only able to secure a 50 spot tournament field. That, however, will benefit all of the anglers involved in the inaugural season as there will be a tighter knit group of competitors and a smaller field of competition. We plan on having a larger field for the subsequent seasons.

In the first post it says to send an email to: DKBSinfo@gmail.com for consideration.  I received a very timely reply when I sent in my request for participation.

I believe info is being posted here as it comes in.  Facebook mirrors the info here in this post.  Registration is supposed to open today so I've been expecting an email about when, where, and how to pay the entry fee.  I hope this weekends event is still a go!  Otherwise, it's going to be a short "series" with only three events.  Either way it'll be fun.

I'm also hoping that there will be some event t-shirts before the season is over.  Collecting the tees is almost as much fun as fishing the events.
