If I were booked to go and the trip got cancelled like this I would bomb his yelp page, FB page, and anywhere else I was able to give my negative feedback.

I still might...

Wow, that sucks, they just up and left because of a better bite down south?  More money?  I would be calling that asshat every freaking day, I would not stand for it.  People took time off work, made plans, there is no excuse at all I would accept and I would demand more than just my money back, I would demand more money for the inconvenience.

Is this the correct contact person:  Captain Rick Craddick: (805) 469-3791

If so I would call him non-stop.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

It is basically saying "your time & commitment means nothing to me, thanks" to all the booked customers.

I actually spoke to Rick Craddick.  He had a long list of misunderstandings between himself and Morro Bay Landing.  Too many to grievances to mention here.

With regards to the Big Sur trip, he told me he didn't want to take any rookie kayak anglers on this trip.  His boat doesn't have a swim step and passengers need to use a ladder straight into a pitching kayak.  The trip should have a NCKA chartermaster who is working directly with the landing.  He also said the landing made the trips open to public which he didn't agree with.

There are only 10 people going and he won't make any money unless its full with 12 passengers.  Considering this is the first trip I think is already a good turn out.  If its successful he will get more business.

Bottom line is I got the sense he didn't care.  I wish he had Yelp or FB so I can give him a piece of my mind.

Bad situation for the people that committed their time and money for this trip. Poor business practice in a business (like most) where customer service goes a long way towards reputation.

On the topic of Yelp, there's nothing stopping anyone from STARTING a Yelp page for this business and leaving a review.

I think Morro Bay Landing and Rick Craddick never communicated or agreed with trip details in the first place.  As I mentioned earlier both parties are not happy with each other.

What sucks is the disappointment of looking forward to exciting trip to virgin spots at Big Sur months in advance. Weather looks good too for that window.

Then it gets dropped.  :smt013

Wow! :smt011 I can't beleive they promoted this and then dropped the ball. There is a reason they don't do these trips all the time. My guess is NCKA will no longer be using thir boat in the future, what a way to get a bad rep that is going to stick with our NCKA family.

Well we cn start with craigslist rants and raves. But on that note If he took the money and you planned your whole vacation around the trip. Is there legal recourse as this is not his first time he has pulled this stuff. If he gets of easy it won't stop. He is lucky I wasn't suppose to be on that trip. Dennis Spike used to do trips through him. And if he didn't want any new kayakers that should have been in the application. But that being said how would he know. I'm sure there are forms in case you get hurt as there all these types of things have. I have one other question is he considered a guide and are there things they have to abide by. I feel you guys pain. I'm part of a group who charters a boat from time to time and the Black Pearl is black listed from our charters.
