And while you're at it, I wouldn't absolve Morro Bay Landing of any wrongdoing either.

Why can't you guys just paddle out to the fishing grounds instead of taking a boat ride?

Sheesh. You guys are getting old and  lazy.......😉

Uhhh...we do that alot down here. We just "thought?" a ride on a motherboat "might?" put us on a few spots we can't launch close to. But then again, I'm kind of a demolition launcher so, maybe I have learned to be a bit chicken.

Ever surfed at Fuller's when it was breaking at 12 feet?

Am I missing something?  What did Morro Bay Landing do that was wrong?

They are the booking agent.   They still have responsibility.

Second that. I got my refund today and Glenn was very apologetic. Sounds like communication between all parties could have been better, but my beefs' with the captain. I'm a contractor and have under bid jobs in the past that I've lost money on or broke even, but a deals a deal and I honor my commitments I don't just pull anchor and split whining about money.

Seems to me that the decision to cancel the trip was beyond their control.  Unless you think there was something more that they could have done to make the Black Pearl live up to their responsibilities, they did nothing wrong.

It doesn't matter if it was beyond their control or not.  Let's say I hire a general contractor to do some work on my house.  They sub-contract out, but due to the sub-contractor flaking out, the job doesn't get done.  Who is responsible?  The general contractor is responsible to me.  The sub-contractor is responsible to the to general.

One might view it as they did nothing wrong in the sense of malicious intent, but they partnered with the Black Pearl, they were the party taking the money, and that makes them guilty by association.  Do I feel for them?  Sure.  But they should take some heat for this.  It's business.

As for "rolling with it", well, I got no skin in this game.  But I feel for the guys that were cancelled on for the trip that was supposed to happen this weekend were informed about the cancellation last week.

I am on the June trip.  I got 6 days notice about the cancellation. Yes I am still bummed.  I got together with 3 others on the same trip yesterday.  They are not happy campers.  Our vacation plans got screwed.

I'm with you 100 percent on this one PolePole I bet a few planned their whole vacation around this trip. I'd take them to court only because the notice was so short not to make other arrangements for a vacation. The whole thing is it didn't just effect the guys who were going. But could have effected their bosses and fellow employees. Some who signed up may have took vacation early this year and put off a hunting trip or other events. Maybe this thread should be forwarded to the landing. If you guys want I could print it out and drop it by to them. So they know how bad of a deal this was. I live 30 mins away and plan to be going that way next week.

I just think that the "heat" should stay focused on the Black Pearl, where it belongs.  One might view that the OP may have some accountability also, as he advertised for the trip, making him guilty by association, but that would be wrong.

Umm yeah, that would be wrong.  I was the original poster.  I did not advertise anything.  I quoted something that was posted on the Morro Bay Landing facebook page.  I have zero financial involvement with either Morro Bay Landing or the Black Pearl.  I did not offer this trip, or book this trip, unlike Morro Bay Landing.

I'm not advocating applying heat to MBL instead of the BP.  Clearly both have responsibility here.
