Yep that's my lap alright.

Aaron

Is it bad that I recognized your lap?

Guess that's what happens when you look at and verify every AOTY pic.  :smt002

Another successful Gyotaku Extravaganza!  The ever present Shelter Cove wind and all.

I doubled my volunteers (a BIG shout out to them: Yungsoon, Janet, Christine, Amber, Isao, Shannon, Sarah, Lauren, Hailie and Hannah  :groupwave) to help with the event. I really could not run the event without their invaluable assistance. New ideas were integrated to improve on the event and the volunteers generated some more ideas to make next year even better.  If you have some ideas for next years Gyotaku Extravaganza, I would love to hear them!

Thank you to all who supported the event by participating or donating to a kid's sponsored shirt.  Four kids were delighted to be sponsored, and they all entered the kid's gyotaku shirt contest too!

This year we had two divisions for the gyotaku shirt contest; Kid and Adult - each with the opportunity to win $100 cash prize! Thank you to my randomly selected judges Lawana, Hailie and Russ.  Even though they had not met before, they embraced the judging task. The only guidance I gave them is that they all needed to agree on whatever criteria the three of them decided on when selecting a winner.  All of the entries were outstanding so I am sure their job wasn't easy!

And the winners are:

Kid's Gyotaku competition winner - Zilla's son Jet!  ($100)
Adult Gyotaku competition winner – Shannon Jay ($100)

This report is not complete without recognizing Eric. Thank you Eric for giving me the opportunity and support to add more fun to your amazing GS tournaments!

If you missed it this year, there is always next year   :smt001

More photos of the event coming soon!

Thank you Brandi and Volunteers, the Gyotaku Event was a event highlight as it allowed me a special time with my little buddy, the member of the NCKA family most special to me. This years shirt will remain a keepsake, thank you to the sponsors who ponied up so it could be free for her. First class! Thanks, Amos
