One of my friends passed, and his dog is at a mutual friends house. Pup was $800, papered, etc. Glen needs to find a home for him. Hunter is very well mannered, and gorgeous! Glen is going to send me some pics I will post. I havent hunted this dog, but I know Bob did some. I have to find a place for him in the next few weeks, or they have to take him to a shelter. I would love to take him, but I have Pepper. I reckon I will if it comes to it, but he will make a great pet, and with a little work, a good gun dog. I will even help train him. If you are looking for a lab, past the chew everything up stage, Hunter will be a great companion. Let me know, and when I get pics, I will post them. Thanks.

I think he is good on both.  Glen has a young-ish daughter, and lots of dogs and cats. I havent heard him bark yet,  that is a plus too.

First off, condolences for the loss of your buddy, and good on ya for handling his canine loved one.

For Christmas my wife gave me a box with a note in it.  Note said "You can get a dog."  It's been years.

I figured I would know when the right one comes along.  If diroblo is not taken with the pup, I've got my hand raised to do a meet and greet.  If I want him to really like me that would be a MEAT and greet, ya?

Also, Chocolate Labs are the smart ones, right?

thanks Rich!  The chocolates always seemed to be a bit more boxy, squared off to me.  I'm no lab expert whatsoever, but they really seen like a substantially different dog than the black ones esp.  Whites strike me as kind of in the middle.  Or am I just making all this up?

I'll take him if it comes down to taking him to the shelter. My folks could use another dog.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

Golden Gate Lab rescue is an option if you can't work anything out.   They place lots of dogs.  We got a 7yo huge yellow from them.   Great family dog that someone locked outside for the first 7 years of her life and then they moved away.  We spoiled her rotten until the arthritis got to be too bad a year and a half ago.  RIP Prada.

PS,  Prada never would listen.  She would take off running every time off leash   We were idiots.  We never changed her name.   We could of changed it because she never even knew her name. When she would take of running,  I would chase after her screaming "Prada, Prada, Prada."  How embarrassing.

Hunter is a smaller lab, but perfectly proportioned. I agree the rescues are great, but so are all the guys/fams interested here. I know he will go to a good home. Thanks everyone,  one big load off my shoulders!  :smt006 The rest of family matters prob wont be as easy to get sorted through. I will also post up here first any hunting or fishing, camping stuff the family might want to part with. Not anyone to leave much to, so we shall see.

I wish I could take him, the wife and I want a lab so bad but the landlord says "no dogs". Hopefully this year we will be buying a house, then we can have all the dogs we want.
