How about a 2 1/2 day combo trip. Offshore Ensanada boat trolling/patty hopping, kayak fishing Coronados Island or inshore northern baja. Yeah I know the Coronados are complicated by Mexican laws, but if you dropped the kayaks far enough away...  :smt044 just like the Navy Seals. Then you could target tuna and dorado as well as WSB and YT. It's hard for me to justify a lot of cash to target San Clemente Island. For a 5 day, Cedros kayakfishing, Guadalupe boat fishing would be an option.  The problem with dedicated mothership trips is that you limit your opportunities for dorado, BFT and YFT. Just my 2 cents.

My annual trip is set for 8/2-8/9. If a Cedros trip becomes a reality, I would sign on.  BTW, Scott, the Mexicans charge extra for access to fishing Guadalupe Island.

If you look at the islander schedule they usually go on 5 day trips at least one a year. I'm game for the 2.5 day at the island. 3 day is a little out of my price range and personally I would rather spend the extra time fishing around San Diego. If this goes and I get a spot I'll probably take a few extra days to stay in SD and fish my face off. For the price of the 6 day you could drive to Mexico and fish some amazing waters all by your self for 2 weeks. That's my .02

Longer trips (7-8 days) to Cedros/Benitos/Guad would make more sense to maximize fishing time since it takes about one day to get down there (more like one day and half with the mandatory Ensenada customs check in).
Another consideration would be the time of the year, early season trips (June/July) can be hit an miss, mostly miss unless calico is your game, the best time IMHO would be from the first part of August into September. It is the peak of Yellowtail there, but be prepared to pay premium fees for it as it is prime tuna season as well.
My dos centavos....

A visit to Ensenada is not required for fishing Cedros. However, it may be now for Guadalupe.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone that's been on this trip complain about the fishing.  But what I do hear over and over again, on the water, around the campfires, and eating at the potlucks, are endless stories of good times with good friends!

So true....It's not just about the fishing! Catching fish however adds extra fuel to the campfire. The first Islander trip was one cast of characters. I think that was 2008 or 9'

Just thinking about this trip has kept me smiling for 2 days.  Woke up this morning and searched for last years report.  Dustin's Butt, Joes' Bass, and Pat's Beast ... oh my!

After this year's trip I will book every NCKA based trip that gets put together.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

The price and dates for the 3.5 day option are going to be $765 and June 6-11.  This trip would be instead of the 2.5 day trip (scheduled June 6-10) should we so choose.  I've reflected this info in the poll above too.

Right now we have more than enough people to completely fill the 2.5 day trip.   Interest in the 5 day trip seems to be somewhat lacking.  If those people were interested in the 3.5 day, there would be 13 interested in that option.

It's a hard decision here as I think we could fill a 3.5 day trip, but who wants to cut those 10 people off?  A bird in the hand is worth 2 Bushy's?
