Handline Reels

We've had NCKA'ers like Tailwalk and EricB land nice halibut and lingcod on handline reels.

I've been wanting to give it a try.  It seems like the ultimate challenge of fishing skill.  I'd like to see us have some kayak fishing hook-ups and derbies around handlines.

Anyone else interested???

Here are 3 that I own but really haven't used: 

ARW a couple months back.  Can't wait to hook a long or cab with the handline.

I have been wanting to play with them.  It seems like the kind of thing that plays well with kayak fishing and the KISS rule.  I will need to get a very groovy wood one for sure.

Yeah, I'm ready to build one up myself, all I need is a coffee can!
My first fishing was handlines that my uncle made.
Those, and cane poles cut from stands on the delta.

Looks like fun.
