Cool to see this is gonna happen. Because this type of tourney format has been discussed many times before...but never materialized. So thanks for stepping up, Ruben!  And I'll actually get to go since soccer season ends Nov 3 woohoo! Although I'm not sure if this type of format would require more skill or luck to win but I'm down either way.

Fricken A hulls only get one lure, have to fish blindfolded, and with one arm tied behind their back.  They always win tournaments. :smt003]

I'm in, the format is too awesome to miss :)
I'll be leaving directly from the awards/food to pick up my trailer in Sac and get set up that night at Amador for Sunday :)

Anyone who wants to carpool for a day trip from Sac, I'll have room for 1.

How about a line counter on your reel?  I would hate to be DQ d by the rule Nazi the morning of the event.

:smt043 OMG, I almost spit out my coffee.

Line counters are OK.

BTW - You should have waited until game day and preserved your advantage  :smt077

Ruben, you're allowing line counter, I thought the theme of the tournament is simplicity... old school kayak fishing. Nothin' fancy, just the angler and his/her gear, testing their skills. Just kidding bruddah.

Too bad I only have Hobies.  Sold my OK T13 last year and miss it dearly.

I have lost interest in rock fishing but the format sounds fun. Some of the best anglers I fish with on the central coast use no electronics. I think the locals still have an advantage. To make it truly a level playing field, you should have it at a location nobody fishes regularly. Like Big Sur.  :smt005 :smt005 :smt005 I'll see if I can make it. Can we drop crab pots?

Scott, the Central Coast would be great for a future tourney. And I do plan on doing a couple of these a year, so I'll keep that in mind.

Yes to crab pots. Can't see why not.

Ugggh, last time someone tried to host an event in Big Sur it turned into 15pgs of bs. And the reason why I'll never try to organize an event again. With the exception of PIF of course.

And the actual report from that event disappeared/got deleted.  :smt009
