Enough time before the wind kicks in and to accomidate those coming from a distance and those with family in tow who also want to pay their respects.

Talking to Mooch's sister Rachel today about the ash scattering ceremony...

I had the idea of dropping an abalone shell with a good bye message written in sharpie on it out on the water where we scatter his ashes...if several guys did it, it would create a little "shell garden" down there for him. 

She liked the idea a lot, and asked that anybody who did it to please take a pic of shell and/or message before dropping it down so that the family could have the pic as a memory....

She said bananas would also be welcome. 

She also asked about a shell to scoop the ashes with, and I said to just let me know what size she wanted and how many and I could get her some nice cleaned up pretty ones for her and the family to use when scooping ashes.

Anyway, thought you all might like to know and that some may want to join in on the "shell garden" idea.

Jim, the monterey fish company at the end of the fisherman's wharf sells cleaned, small Ab shells... I have 6-7 of them if you don't have time to pick up or find some...

Many of us don't have big ab shells... Would like to do this. Anyone willing to donate some shells at the paddle?

I have over 100 abalone shells I would donate. If you want one let me know.
